Message: Your Broadband Phone account has gone offline

« on 08/10/2008, 16:07 »
Since 2 October I have been getting emails every day from plusnet telling me my broadband phone account has gone offline.
I am not aware that my connection has gone offline and I have never received these emails when I have disconnected the router in the past.
My Broadband phone is working fine through SJphone.

Why am I getting these emails?

Is the email notification option enabled when you login to the control panel?

Just to confirm, that I am seeing this as well....

It has been a problem before for many of us (several months back was the last time i had it).

To confirm, the symptoms:-

My VOIP setup is working correctly.
Nothing has changed at this end.
Suddenly last week I started getting these emails multiple times a day.
I am signed up to receive them, but haven't seen a single one since the last time the system borked months ago! (There are threads here in this forum about it last time!).

It would appear that the email system is broken again. Certainly last time it happened, the emails bore no resemblance to the VOIP registration logs at this end.

I am unable to check the emails & logs for this time currently, but will report back if I get a chance to look at them.

is this actually stopping you from receiving inbound calls?

This was a problem a while ago and then suddenly stopped. I think this time it might be linked to the Network Problem experienced in Sheffield last thursday as I got my first message at 03:22 in the morning and when I got up I was having problems retrieving e-mails and then at around 0900 ish Service Status was report a problem in Sheffield and even thouogh things were rebooted and sorted as far as e-mails were concerned I think there has to be a something connected to that problem. I am getting about 4 or 5 e-mails a day, even though my phone continues to work and I even received one e-mail today while I was talking telling me that I had gone offline. It's just a little annoying to keep receiving them when nothing is wrong with the system it's obviously a server issue at Gradwell or Plusnet Towers that needs kicking.

I  too have been rceiving these messages since early October.

But have made a discovery - by coincidence - my Broadbabnd telephone goes down at exactly the same time as a friend of mine's Plusnet Voip phone goes down within the second.  Happens each and every time that mine does. We are on different BT exchanges so unlikely to be anything to do with the broadband feed.

This was received this afternoon -

"The SIP ID 662xxxx  which has been connected since 2008-10-08 13:46:39, went offline at 2008-10-10 13:20:52.
The IP address your account was connected from was 192.168.1.10 and identified as Zoiper for Windows rev.1105."

Interestingly it shows that I'm using the Zoiper Softphone!   Well I was for 24 hours several days but I now have it on an FXS port on a Draytek 2800VG.router/modem.

Seems too much of a coincidence that they should be at the same time.  Looks like someone is re-booting a server to me!

My last one was.......

The SIP ID 842XXXX which has been connected since 2008-10-08 13:46:40, went offline at 2008-10-10 13:20:50.

Exactly the same here - a flurry of emails telling me I have gone offline.   None since 30th June, 17 since 2nd October.  No settings changed and nothing to suggest I have really gone offline.

I am still getting these "offline" emails. Any signs of a fix yet?

I'll second that!
I'm getting these emails as well. Only just got back from hols on Saturday and got 4 emails yesterday and 1 today already.  I have a Siemens C475 and it is permanently on, so it should not be being indicated as offline.

Gradwell are still rolling out fixes for the 'expiry status' issue so this could be related. The expiry issue should hopefully be fixed by close of play today so we'll mop this up afterwards incase they are connected in some way.

cheers
