my new house had an openreach faceplate already... the guy showed up anyway.. seemed happy enough.. just had to head to the green box, then plug in the modem. happy days. He was nice as well, and came on the correct day. Easiest 50 quid anyone ever earnt though...

You'll be surprised they only get paid £11 per install.
I don't know where the rest goes?  Probably to OpenReach

Oh for sure, I wasn't implying plusnet/eningeers are pocketing anything or the like. It was just an easy gig for the guy. He was the cheeriest engineer i'd ever met though, we talked about guitars the whole time!
