question 1 of 3 : where are you viewing this website from right now?

O At home
O At work
O Other,

[Next]

again a copyright notice at the bottom... and a statement saying they are not affiliated or partnered with Google

Google has not authored , participated in, or in any way reviewed this advertisment or authorized it... see important t&c here...

it also has a "logo" for Consumer Survey Group next to the big red block with Visitiors Surevey: GOOGLE

(makes it look like it is from Google)...

Haven't you had this happen to you before, recently, and you posted here? Another malware something or other. Tut, tut, Gerry, you've got to stop going to all those porn sites.   Cheesy

I suppose someone should insert a load of rubbish about Linux being impervious to viruses because you don't run everything as root, unlike Windows which gets instantly infected as soon as you go to a website.

Do you remember I was getting some pop-up in FF a few months back?

Couldn't find anything major using Malwarebytes, CCleaner, MSE and SpyBot. But I, too, installed Adblock Plus and haven't been bothered since.

I had something similar to this at the beginning of July - it turned out to be malware called “coupondropdown”. Fortunately, someone on another forum I use had this same problem last year and was able to tell me how to remove it.

Anyone being troubled by malware might like to try running Microsoft's Malicious Software Removal Tool

MSRT doesn't kill all malware, but it's a good at attacking the usual suspects.

Just got another one.... Same survey company.... supposedly from BBC ....

Am running Adblock.. and now doing a malwarebytes scan.....  Undecided

And the  result is.......................................................25 "OBJECTS"  found..... YUK !...

a  lot of theme seem to be from "toparcadehits".... but... I don`t play games on my computer... not interested... never have done.  possibly a link with ATubeCatcher "bundled toolbar"... but again.. I am careful to use the "custom" install on these things, and decline all toolbars...

Oh well... !.. spose I`ll have to be a bit more vigilant...!..

Off to use Absolute Unistaller now, to get rid of any sneaky b******* toolbars...

 Cheesy

EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT

Done the Absolute uninstaller.... no toolbars found... and as for ATubeCatcher... that was installed in April this year... and no problems since then, `til now !...

Nope.... The blue applies to other posters on other threads, including Strat, with Router in his sig... and "cruises" in my sig.... also words like London Hotels, and BT Home Hub have been in blue and double underlined... ( in other threads )... and I have not visited any sites with those words or subjects...
