One way would be to set up Google Drive on both devices, photos can easily be transferred to Google Drive from an Android phone then accessed from another device with Google Drive installed.

Have a look at Airdroid http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/airdroid-how-to-wirelessly-connect-android-to-mac-or-pc/

Re: Transfering Photos from my Android Samsung Galaxy S2

airdroid downloaded but appears to be difficult to use to transfer pics although everyone seems to think it can do this easily  wish i had bought an iPhone it would have been so simple.  I am now reluctant to try the first suggestion of using google but may try that next
thanks for advice

I've just done it, albeit from my Nexus 7 to my office Windows box, can't see it being vastly different to your Mac.
Just run Airdroid on the phone, make the connection from a browser on the Mac, Open the 'Files' folder by clicking it, drill down to where your photos are ( mine are in the DCIM directory ) , select the photo(s) you wish to transfer and then click Download. If you select more than 1 photo it will download a zip containing all the selected photos.
NB the Airdroid desktop also has a Photos folder which should be the same as above.
edit: I've tried from my Nexus 7 to my Linux system at home using Firefox and that works just the same so I would assume the browser on OS X ( Safari ? ) should work.

Doesn't your Apple have a USB connector?
Can't you just plug in the S2 and see it as a "drive"?

Nope. Android Jelly Bean doesn't implement USB Mass storage mode, it uses Media Transfer Protocol(MTP) mode. I'm not a Mac user but I believe MTP isn't supported natively by OS X yet. There are options to install software on the Mac to support it ( I think ) but from my experience I thought it would be easier for tgr to install Airdroid on the phone and keep the Mac standard.

A little late but could be of use to others - try Samsung Kies available at http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/JSP  Smiley

I also have Samsung phone and I use Android Mobile Manager tool to transfer photos, it provides both Windows and Mac versions which support to transfer dtaa from Android to Windows or Mac, easy to use. How to transfer Photos/video from Android to PC.

Another choice is Android File Manager, both of them can be used to transfer data from Android to PC and transfer data from Android to Android.

Re: Transfering Photos from my Android Samsung Galaxy S2

As I know, transferring photos from your Android to Samsung Galaxy S2 is not difficult. We can use mobile phone transfer tool be our help. With its help, we can directly transfer photos between them after we connect both of them to computer via usb cables.
