18866 calls

I am with BT with weekends free and use 18866 for calls other times.
Can I still do this with Plusnet  ?

Re: 18866 calls

I've been using 18185 for past 16 months, without any problems, on Plusnet E&W Smiley

Re: 18866 calls

Hi,
The official line is that we don't block these numbers, but nor do we support them (ie if it works it works, if it doesn't we won't be able to help).
That said, I've never known any CPS service that doesn't work on our platform.

Bearing in mind that with the override services that they charge the connection fee whether connected to the person called or not, wonder if it is worth using them?
There is only about £3 difference between E&W and the new Anytime so it might be worth considering the latter.  Also one less direct debit/bill.

Re: 18866 calls

The fact that they aren't blocked is a very good point as I know someone on Sky ( not LLU) that can't use them.
@poppy - not true of 18185 as I've never yet been charged for an unconnected call. I make very few daytime calls so it's cheaper for me plus I can send texts at 3p each which is cheaper than sending to other networks from my PAYG mobile. I'd have to make a lot of 5p calls to justify paying for Anytime.
Overall it's better that Plusnet allow it and still get my £11.99/month
I've got nothing but praise for 18185 billing & DDs. Call charges appear in minutes and there's plenty of warning before DD is taken.

Re: 18866 calls

Thanks for all your replies.
I am still considering whether it would be beneficial to change. I gather I would have to pay 99p for caller display, do PN charge for 1471 and 1571 ?  I have to  make two calls through BT to qualify for 1471 and 1571 facility
18866 do charge if an answer phone comes on, but  as far as I am aware not if the phone call isn't answered. I don't make many phone calls  and rarely pay more than £4 for my two monthly bill, in fact my latest one is only £1.90  I don't pay BT for Anytime as we are away for about eight weeks altogether during the year.

Re: 18866 calls

Hi trishah,
both 1471 and 1571 are free, though you'll need to specifically order 1571 (the voicemail) - don't worry if you've placed the order for the phone already, we can add voicemail at a later date if you need.
Hope that helps,
