Errors (Dont look James :P)

James told me I should have interleaving on because he was seeing alot of errors in my connection but I really dont want it on  Tongue

I just want to compare to others really, to see if this is normal or not. Although I dont fully understand what each of these error types mean..
(And no I havent had any problems with my connection recently)

Saw on dslreport forum they like to see errors after 2 minutes, apparently easier to judge, so heres mine after 2 minutes

Uptime:   0 days, 0:03:19

the upstream errors are a random reporting bug i got for some reason last time i resync'ed.
i run at a max of 250 es aday on fastpath and apart from the 21cn DLM puting me on a band i never had issues running fastpath on 20cn and currently dont on 21cn touch wood since i got un banded.

i would never have interleaving even at my line length unless i was getting lots an lots  of resync's or insane error counts that was effecting throughput

what router do you have?

on my switch over from 20cn to 21cn adsl2 my fastpath was kept on so ive never had interleaving on since being on adsl2 last april.
still unknowen if james knew i would be asking for fastpath when he placed my order or if it was just the settings ported over from 20cn as my line synced with same noise margin ect as soon as adsl2+ came live on my line

Im using the Thomson from Plusnet, TG585 v7.

Well so far so good I guess, aslong as its normal to get some errors Im happy Smiley

I knew you wanted interleaving turned off Wink

Default is auto, I turned it off.

lower error's the better but as for my error rates on my line i dont see them effect me at all (unless there is a lighting storm then they raise very quickly and get the DLM hot and botherd but thats not very often so i can live with that)

james did you find 1st gear on FM3 or did you just keep to you fav reverse gear  Smiley

I get massive error numbers and have given up worrying about them as connection is stable and don't see any other problems.

I suspect, mabe my router might possibly be lying.
Honestly I guess it is failing to read or report any errors, been like that for a long time, even tried the factory reset button.
It does make me wonder if any of the other information it's giving me can be trusted.
My line is NOT super stable.
Think I might need to dig out the old BT 210.

(anyone want to buy an 'ERROR FREE' router? Grin)

Would that be a Thomson SpeedTouch as well, Bob? Looks like it from stats.

I've heard that they show high error figures and my two certainly do despite connection being stable.

Yeah it is, I get similar results with my 2wire as well though.

the thomson reporting bug gives these

Yes those 585v7's seem to report erroneous FEC error figures judging by a wide assortment of posts on these boards. Only just read this thread (so the PS in by PM to you Bob has been answered!)

The CRC errors that have been posted are within acceptable limits based on guidelines I've seen, although I can't comment specifically on Dick's (no uptime showing). 120 or so per hour isn't so bad, nice if it's lower. ASBO's DS figures (reply #2) are quite respectable for a longer line.
