Phone Call Charge Query

« on 06/11/2009, 07:38 »
I’m on talk anytime.  Are calls to 012357 numbers inclusive or are they chargeable?

01, 02, 03, 0800, 0500, 0845, 0870 are all included on the new packages, 0845 is not on the legacy 240

I've been charged £4.07 for a 2hr 30min call to an 012357 number.  It seems very high

You are limited to 59m 59 secs, after that you pay the full rate, you should have hung up and reconnected Embarrassed Embarrassed

Yeah, I forgot to hang up  Cry  But £4.07 for 1.30mins is pretty high.  I know I didn't pay anything near that with BT.

You'd pay for 90 mins of that call (only the first 60 mnis are included).  90 x 0.045p = £4.05. (The extra 2p amounts to 26 seconds or so so your call was probably 2hrs 30 mins 26 secs.)

I'm saving money with plusnet phoning abroad but I think if I was not phoning abroad I would be cheaper with BT

PN charge 4.5p per minute for out of bundle calls irrespective of time of day (plus 9p set up where that applies)

BT charge 5.25p/min from 6am to 6pm and 1.45p/min from 6pm to 6am (plus 9.05p set up where applicable)

Hi there,

BT are cheaper for 01, 02, 03 calls outside of the allowance at night, and for a small selection of 0845 non inclusive calls. On pretty much everything else we're cheaper.

The best thing I can suggest is redialling after 59 mins.

Hi Mand

Thanks for reply.  Yes, I should have redialled but didn’t expect to be on the phone so long. Smiley  I think you still work out cheaper overall with cheaper line rental and the inclusive calls to Spain I can make free of charge for 30 mins.
