Plusnet - A ping odyssey

I cant say i have bob, i deliberately opted out of the 21cn to try and avoid this type of BS, fat load of good its done me, i haven't played properly in weeks and the last time that page was updated was the 2nd of feb.

My bad, that page isn't relevant to you as you're not on the 21CN network from what I can tell. It's certainly worth you wiresharking your gaming traffic though as it's pretty trivial for us to correct the classification of a game if it's being picked up incorrectly.

I did the whole wireshark issue back last november when this initally started - everything was being categorised properly, wiresharks were sent in to your tech support team, im still attempting to play the same game (quakelive..) nothing has changed.

Up untill tonight, the last week appeared to have improved, but again tonight, 3 gateway hops later and its still no better

The past fortnight has been great i must admit, no problems what-so-ever. Just as i came to this realisation yesterday evening, like, an hour later, BOOM pings of 500+, had to reset for the first time in a month, annoyed doesnt cover it. Every time you appear to have solved it, it goes w*nk again.

WHALLOP, 400+ again.

Can't even get into a game on MW2, let alone play  Angry

I've done all this, sent wireshark captures and been told packets are not been correctly prioitised - took weeks for plusnet to agree with what I was telling them but still no fix.

I'm seriously thinkin of small claims court to get as the ongoing issues clearly break the TOS and for an unnaceptable amount of time with no compensation offered.

Anyone facy grouping together for a "class action"?

PlusNet should at least be offering a discount to £11.99 until this is resolved.

Update, provisional.

Plusnet have put Pro customers unidentified traffic onto Titanium.

After one night testing this seems to have fixed the ping uissue I was having, previously unidentified traffic was going gold and I think that was causing the erratic ping.

Got a big game tonight so it's getting a good work out tonight and I'll report back.

Just hoping some others can also try again and see if there is any improvement?

Just noticed this post - i looged a call tonight asking how longs left on my contract, and what the penaltys are for leaving early - to be honest the ammount of time thats being wasted is a joke, cant play at all and i dont have all the time in the world - how bad can the financial penalties be.

To rub salt in the wound, initally this evening the support portal wasnt working to log a call on the web, so i called in (first time in about 6 months ringing) - waited a good 20 mins and spoke to a nice sounding chap, i said can you take my mobile no. in case i get cut off that way i dont have to queue for another 20 mins, he said no worries, i will take it and call you back right now and save you the call cost....

put the phone down... that was 20 mins ago - no call back Sad
