Leaving (Really this time)

Hi James, I was away for a long weekend and have only just seen this announcement.

Congratulations on securing your new job and I wish you all the very best in your future career. You have been the champion of sensibility in this sometimes insane place, managing to hold our loyalty to PlusNet through creative thought and actions. Good creative people are hard to find and I hope that PlusNet realise what they are losing.

I will PM you separately but for now, let me say how delighted I am that you have found an opportunity that fits you skills and interests.

Best wishes and thank you for all of the help you have given me and my referrals over the years.

Best of luck with your new job/challenge James, and thank you very much for your help over the years.

PN will certainly be poorer without you. If it wasn't for your assistance I might have left PN years ago.

Bit surprised to be honest as had you as a Plusnet lifer!

Still a Technical Author role is brilliant and you'd be a mug to turn it down. Just try to restrain your sarcastic streak which you have  Wink

All the best in your new job, James, and many thanks for all that you've done for me and many others. Your work has been invaluable both for us pesky users and for Plusnet's reputation.

Having been a poster on Plusnet forums for some time, I can honestly say there has never been anyone better than James. There have been some who have done well for a short period and responded diligently to all the posts but then it's dropped off. James has been here answering questions and resolving problems week in, week out.

If he has one fault I'd say it was his habit of taking the occasional holiday leaving us for a week or so without the superb service we've come to expect. Wink

Jelv,

Coming from you, that is possibly the kindest and most meaningful comment I could take from my almost 6 years here.

Thank you.

I wonder who will take over now that James is going.  I hope PN realise the invaluable job he did on the forums Smiley

You can be assured that PN know of his importance far more than any of us as individuals can. Remember these forums were just one of a large number he monitors and posts to - there are all the other forums who will be missing his excellent input too.

And even when you take into account the workload of all those, there is also the mammoth pile of work he'd get through behind the scenes too.

I do wonder who I'll pester now if I want something fixing! I guess I'll have to go the old fashioned ticketing route now, like the other people who were never blessed with having found this resource, and its shortcut to Plusnet through James.

Everybody wishes you all the best James - I for one am certain you'll excel, if nothing else your dedication and passion will see to that - without even taking into account your flair and aptitude for technical things, and writing things (see what I did there..)

James,

Compared with the foregoing, I am a newbie but never the less I have found your posts very helpful and, on occasions amusing, whether to my problems or to a host of others. We certainly will miss you and do wish you the very best in you new career. I hope that your time at Plus.net will have set a standard that will continue to serve us as well as in the past. It has been said that you will be a hard act to follow and I heartily concur.

A very grateful,
