Right guys, here's something to get your teeth into Wink

I bought a new PS3 on Sunday and need advice about online gaming like where do I point my PS3 and what's available etc.


BTW I'm not expecting any responses until well after the 10 o'clock news when the real hardcore gamers come out to play Wink Smiley

you will find the hardcore gamers dont get to sleep till 5am and dont wake up till now  Wink blame operation flashpoint 2's stupid lobby system that takes half hour to start a game

al let the ps3'ers answer your question as am part of the plug an play clan  Smiley

Put your PS3 in the routers DMZ and you'll be fine. (Assuming it's not a PN supplied Thomson)

Get your pre-order in for Modern Warfare 2 and we'll have some fun Wink

yep the ps3 games tend use diffrent ports so the easyest way is to just dmz the ps3's static ip address.

get your self operation flashpoint and then you have to find the best server your self adi. pain in the rear and cant see why they wont use didcated servers instead of p2p

at £40 a pop they all should run on dedicated servers
games like gears of war 2 are a complete joke host advantage is massive
get fallout 3 its offline but of the best games
or as said wait for cod MW2
xboxs are better though

Why oh why did you pick a ps3 strat?the xbox 360 has a whole bunch of better games and exclusives,anyways your right about xbox 360 online play being better but thats cos we pay through our noses for the experience,although it has to be said when i play peggle with my girlfriend it all goes a bit t**s up after a few games Sad

happy gaming and kiss goodbye to your real life,gaming starts at 12am and finishes at 8am and then sleep,however this isnt do-able if you have a job Wink

Ps. i expect to see less moderating on this forum as of now!! Wink

Right I have Need for Speed Shift and spend a great deal of time shouting at the TV....

@steve74 I chose the PS3 over the XBox 360 as my Son and his friend both have 360's and play COD4.
If I bought a 360 and loaded COD4 online both of them would declare it their sworn duty to kick my butt at every opportunity Roll Eyes

Yep when playing a game and you shout and swear at the tv this is normal,however my or your own neighbours may tend to think what the hell is actually going on,what would not be normal is if it started shouting back at you like "get of my case you are the controller so dont shout at me if your sliding off the track"

Its a great game shift however its got more an arcade style than a simulater,for a real driving game go for forza motorsport 3 (oh sorry you cant as your on the dark side)just teasing Wink
