I have had  no end of hastle trying to log in to this forum with my user name dratdestroyer.

However if I use the email address postmaster@[deleted for privacy reasons].plus.com it will work on the second attempt using the same password both times.

Why is that?

[Moderator's post by Jim (Oldjim) The login screen for this forum doesn't require an email address but the email address will work which is useful if you forget your username
Checking your account - your username and the display name aren't the same and you need to login with the username (note the two d's) ]

I saw that. The 2 d's. Strange that. Must have had a bad typing day when signing up.

So how do I go about removing one of the d's or shall I just sign in as postmaster@..... ?

Subject to correction by the more knowledgeable I don't think the username is changeable.
Why not just sign in with the 2 d's. This won't affect your display name

Its not easily changeable, and there is no real reason for it to be changeable really - as you say, the display name can be changed as often as one chooses to.
OK - the out-of-sync-guy-falling-on-floor-thingy has gone now.

I shall think of something else to fill this void with at some stage.
