Exchange Status Checker

« on 08/06/2009, 12:41 »
The exchange checker http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/ is now over 5 weeks out of date (again)! [At least for my exchange] and other users are mentioning it being out of date. Could we please have it updated and kept up-to-date more often? It's not much use to other customers or those of us trying to help here on the forums when it's so out of date!

Its on the list!

It should be passing to PNs official control soonish, which should allow it be scheduled 'proper' time, rather than being an ad-hoc when Phil gets some spare time.

OK - the out-of-sync-guy-falling-on-floor-thingy has gone now.

I shall think of something else to fill this void with at some stage.

As the information on there is so woefully out of date, isn't it time it was pulled?

I'd rather it was updated (even if it's not done regularly  Huh?) at least it might be able to give a belated explanation of events/status.

The Plusnet exchange checker is linked on a lot of websites and forums and as such it should be a good advert for Plusnet. Now all it says about Plusnet is that while they might have a good idea, they make a half-arsed job of supporting it.

Also I've never understood why there isn't a banner advert at the top of the page back to the Plusnet portal - another missed advertising opportunity. (As Plusnet host the site for free surely they could have insisted on a link!)

I've emailed Kitz suggesting she pulls the link as that's one of the main places it is featured. When I get time I'll start posting to anywhere else I can find it linked to alert people that it is way out of date.

I find that a little difficult to believe. Have you tried searching by all three methods (telephone number, postcode or name)?

Can you look up your exchange code from http://www.samknows.com/broadband/search.php and post the code please (it is 100% guaranteed that it will be on there - if you can't find it on there you are doing something wrong).

Whilst I can't comment on the invisible exchange, Phil did update the checker yesterday for the ADSL side of things.
