Hi
After a recent homephone fault, my broadband connection speed has reduced considerably.
The maximum modem sync speed is still similar (about 5500 kbps), but the router now drops the connection several times during the evening and night.
More info
Pre fault (End July) BRAS IP Profile 5000 kbps connection up time could last more than 10 days.
Current BRAS IP Profile as low as 2500 kbps
I have replaced the filtered faceplate with another and now run double filtered, but still the modem will not hold on at a respectable speed through the night.
I have also changed routers and this problem still persists; the modem is plugged into the filtered faceplate of the master socket so no improvement can be made here.
Can this be classed as a broadband fault? or will my noise margin just be raised from 6 dB.

Got it sorted. I removed the surge protector from the ADSL line; it must have slowly degraded, over the last year , to a point where it intefered with the bb service.
