I have just changed over to home phone (with caller ID enabled) and inbound SMS messages now come as voicemail instead of a text message as they used to do when I was with BT. Have I now lost the ability to receive SMS messages in text format?

Inbound text SMS certainly works on my PN line.

Have you tried sending one to (re)activate the service?
