Prospective bill/itemisation query

Just a couple of small questions from a possible future customer of Home Phone: are customers able to view a reasonably up-to-the-minute (i.e. a lag of a few minutes is no problem) itemisation of their calls/costs incurred, before the final monthly bill is generated? Also, is there some kind of running total available in conjunction with that itemisation? My mother quite likes the idea of up-to-the-minute itemisation so she can see how much she's spending on phone calls without getting shocked by the bill at the end of the month, but in order for that to be of much use she also needs a running total provided so she can see at a glance how much she has spent.

TIA.

You can get an itemised bill daily, it is supposed to be updated every 4 hours, but is often more delayed than that.

They do a two pass of the BT data the initial one is posted as unconfirmed with a marker, then later confirmed.

When you go to the listing and bill page you can get a CSV listing of all your calls, even going back a long way.  This lists call, timing of call, duration and cost of confirmed call

Interesting, thanks - four hours would be fine for my mother's purposes. How about the running total though?

Yes, the entry into the billing is a bit convoluted, on the Members centre is a clickable Phone Calls this takes you to a sort of summary page, on that page is a clickable View this tells you how much you have spent in that period.  on that page is another clickable Calls Made and Itemised Bill

The calls made lists all the calls - 10 to a section, under that is the option to export a CSV.

The Itemised bill gives you Free Calls, Chargable Calls, International Calls and totals

Just to add to what pierre_pierre has said,  if you look under the itemised bill tab you'll get a running total of the month's bill.  It's added to as soon as the call status changes to confirmed (usually daily).

So, to recap, you get call records updated roughly every 4 hours (this is dependent on BT Wholesale reporting the call on their reports to PN).  The calls are confimed on a daily basis and, once confirmed, are added to the running total on the itemised bill.

It should be noted, though, that the itemised bill doesn't show any special offer discounts in the running total - these are shown on the invoice in "View Transactions" in the main "My Acount" section (on the same invoice as your broadband).

Thanks Paul - the special offer thing won't be a problem. Seems like it's quite a good system all in all...
