Noise margin reset

« on 25/02/2010, 14:55 »
The line is undergoing retraining just now because of a noise margin reset, how long will it take for the nm to hopefully work it's way down to around 6dB from the 16dB it is at just now following a resync a short while ago  Sad

The retraining still has a few days to go to complete the ten day schedule.

Wish I hadn't bothered as the noise margin figure is now higher than it was previously and the sync rate isn't that great either.
The stormy weather, snow and unusual noise bursts on the line didn't help over the ten day retrain, however the sync rate did increase a bit today when I switched the router off (11:45am) for a short while and then restarted  it ....... the downside being the noise margin went up a couple of dBs to 15.8dB..

Will things improve over the next 14 days after today's resync?

No improvement as the default SNRM was set to 15dB, will have to try another noise margin reset and hope for good weather!!!
