Broadband Phone Software/Hardware Setup

I have a D Link DSL G6-4T modem/router - anyone know how to set this up?  When I go through the setup instructions for SJP Phone I get an authorisation failure so I guess I need to do something with the D-Link router as well but I don't know what.

Yes, we've had reports that D-Link routers have a SIP ALG which can restrict the flow of VoIP traffic - the only problem is actually finding the on/off check box.

Hopefully someone in the forums can help you find it as I've seen a thread about DLinks before but cant find it right now?

More information on SIP ALG's at this link:

Problems with SJPhone or X-Lite on Vista? Try PCPhoneRTC

Download from: http://downloads.globalip....com/PCPhoneRTC/setup.msi

Setup is very easy just follow my screen shots though change the Sip ID do your own Cheesy

Only done in 2 minutes so the first screen shot does not match the second one (use the second one). I will fix it later  Embarrassed  Roll Eyes Grin Cheesy

Lo peeps.

Anyone had a go with using their (jailbroken) iPhone/iPod Touch as VoIP phone?

I've got as far as being able to make a call to a landline, but no sound on both ends. But can send DMTF tones down the line from iPod/iPhone.

Am using Siphon. http://code.google.com/p/siphon/

The only settings i can enter are:
Username,
Password,
Server,
Reg-Timeout,
Local Port,
RTP Port,
Enable/Disable NAT,
STUN Domain
and STUN Server.

As far as I know, i've entered the important ones;
Username: 6498123
Password:*******
Server: sip2.plus.net
Local port: 5082
STUN server(optional): stun.xten.net.

Funny thing was, this worked just fine on the previous Plusnet VoIP service on an alpha release of the Siphon iPod application. Now i'm using a stable public release.

Is there something in the new service that is significantly different from the previous one?

Many thanks

Kai

Kei1 - try removing the stun server settings (stun isnt needed for most devices), change the port you've specified for the local port to 5060 and make sure you have NAT enabled with nat.plus.net:5082. Hopefully you'll be good to go after those changes.

Hi guys,

Bob's just posted this guide in the Community Support Library

Perhaps some of you might also like to try doing the same?

In other exciting news, I'm going to post something about how to take an iPhone screenshot later on - I bet you can't wait!
