Hi there,

I've made a change to your domain settings from here, but it can take around 4 hours or so to actually fully complete.
Basically your domain was pointing to a folder inside the htdocs folder on your webspace. As your domain is using the root of the htdocs folder this wasn't needed so I removed it.

With regards to your ticket not being answered, please see the support stats at this page which show that your ticket is still well under the average answer time.

I've seen what my colleague did, he pointed the domain to a folder called htdocs inside the already existing htdocs folder. As this doesn't exist the domain didn't view correctly.
I've educated them as to how to correctly do this in future.

You have to wait much longer. Changes can often take a lot longer than 4 hours to be activated so try again tomorrow.

again I ask as a newbie to having a website but why in the 21st century does such a simple operation take that long. I could build a server from scratch and configure it in less time that that

Because there are automated scripts that are run a certain times of the day to update the PlusNet DNS servers and these can take a while to complete. Its how thing work and you just have to be patient and allow the scripts to run to make the changes.

Not all changes can be done in real time.

In order for the internet to work every computer in the world needs to know where to look (IP address) for any given website.

The DNS (Domain Name Server) system is the solution used to resolve domain names against IP addresses and, as you can imagine, changes take time to propogate.
