I have registered a co.uk domainname, and have sent a request to yahoo, google and ask to try and get the domain recognised by these search engines, but have so far not been successful. What are the main things to do to get the web bots to find my domain.

It can take several weeks from a submission before the bots search your domain, you are after all only one of several billion websites that exist.

Getting to the top of search engines is a black art now due to the search engines constantly changing how they rate pages - google seems to change very frequently to keep ahead of all the people trying to find ways around the rules to get their pages listed.

Basically the more your site is linked from others and the more times it is accessed, the higher your ramking will be.

While in the past you could get a good ranking with the correct meta tag keywords and descriptions, they have little affect on search engine rankings now.

Thanks, it seems that patience is all that is needed.
