Test email to myself marked as [-SPAM-]

The message header shows that it had a 1 in  137 chance of being ham and a probability of 1.0000 of being spam.
It had 15 'X-DSPAM' factors and 14 out of the 15 were 0.99000
The 0.99000 factors included my IP address, the reply address, my computer's internal name, and my organisation.
Even the date (Nov+2007) had 0.99000
Anybody know what is going on?

Re: Test email to myself marked as [-SPAM-]

Hi Tony
Would you mind posting the full headers to the thread so that we can see what is marking this as spam.
It might be an idea to mask any email addresses from the header before you post.

Re: Test email to myself marked as [-SPAM-]

Hi Mark
I can't post the full headers because there are so many references to my address that to cut them out would make the X-DSPAM factors section meaningless.
I will send them in a 'personal message' to you.
[EDIT] I have sent you the header.
I have opened a ticket ID 23262442 which also includes the full header.

Re: Test email to myself marked as [-SPAM-]

Thanks for that Tony.
I've forwarded that on to the guys to investigate.
I imagine that Bob will post up the findings in the morning.
I can clearly see it being tagged but we need to understand exactly why.
We'll keep you posted.

Re: Test email to myself marked as [-SPAM-]

One other thing - it seems to have gone through the Critical Path process.
Could that be a factor?

Re: Test email to myself marked as [-SPAM-]

It's unlikely. Critical path's findings will be marked by an X-MAA header. Out of interest did Critical Path think it was spam?

Bob.
I've sent the header on to you pal.
Looks like DSPAM tagged it not CP.

Re: Test email to myself marked as [-SPAM-]

Bob and Mark.
Thank you for looking into this.
There is another current topic that might be related (http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,2629.0.html)
Their emails have not arrived when sent from PlusNet to other PlusNet addresses. It is possible that their emails are also marked as spam and either deleted or moved to a folder.
I have also just spotted another topic with incorrectly marked spam (http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,2626.0.html)
Also could it be related to Be3G's post (reply 101 on topic http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,1760.90.html)

Re: Test email to myself marked as [-SPAM-]

I doubt the other topic's related Tony. I've failed to replicate either of the problems those customers are reporting and I'm more inclined to think they're dealing with a configuration problem, although of course I could be wrong! Wink
Edit: just seen a few like this with the 0.9900 dspam factor for the date that didn't go through Critical Path so I think we can safely rule out any problems there (The one I saw though didn't have a  total high enough for the subject line to be tagged). Will carry on investigating.

Re: Test email to myself marked as [-SPAM-]

Hi Bob,
I'm still hoping that you'll look into this. I received a reply from the CS saying that they think it is because on my internal computer name.
They suggest that if I take 4 of the 8 letters from PORTTONY that I end up with a banned word (PORxxxNx).
I'm sorry, but I think that this is rediculous - especially since 13 out of the other 14  factors were also marked as 0.99000.
They also asked me to send the email to the 'notspam' address, but I feel that this just clouds the issue.
