Re: Still having outage problems

Hi MsDizzie,
A simple solution to the HHID functionality challenges might be to use RouterStats to obtain the Modem Stats.
The summary tab shows the DSL stats and thus might be a simpler route to grabbing them rather than negotiating the router GUI.  Big right panel - select all (CTRL-A) - copy (CTRL-C) - paste it somewhere (email?) (CTRL-P).

So I reckon a new training period could be in order?
Can someone from Plusnet CRT check this out for me please?

Re: Still having outage problems

Hi,
This is the same xDSL session as that started on 18th Sept, by the looks of things around midday.  Only 10 error end seconds on the last 5 days is really good.
If the RouterStats graphs are dead flat, it could be the case that the target SNRM is (was if the DLM has acted on the improved stability) 9dB.  One way to determine this for yourself would be to do a graceful restart (manually drop PPP wait a couple of minutes and power off the router for 10 minutes.  Power up and see what the stats say. You might need to manually force a PPP reconnect.
If the SNRM is circa 6dB then you do not need CRT intervention.

Re: Still having outage problems

Will be very interested in the results.  As things stand, you have 1.5dB less noise now than you did when you resynched the router, which if my calculations are correct was around midday on the 18th.
If it had been midnight, I could have explained the change away with evening AM radio continental interference - the only residual explanation is that there was some REIN around at that time.  Keeping the graphing running for the time being would be really useful.

Graceful restart done:
1. Manually drop PPP wait a couple of minutes and power off the router for 10 minutes.
2. Power up

From what I can see there is little change from the last stats I posted. So it appears that I am "glued" to 9db or thereabouts. OK... I know the stats are only 2 hours old but I'm loving those 0's !!!
I guess that I will have to make a request to the CRT for a reset?

Re: Still having outage problems

You've just about said all that there is to say!
Your line is though still on the margin.  If it would remain stable at 6dB it is not likely to quite reach the expected 16Mbps.
You've choices here, bite the bullet and request a DLM / SNRM reset and see how things go over the 10 day training period or wait and see.
Which ever route you take, please keep RouterStats running.  You might care to play with the alarm settings on SNRM variability to alert you to an event.
Cheers,
Kevin

Re: Still having outage problems

Stability is the key  Smiley
I'll keep monitoring for the rest of this week, then I might take the plunge and ask for a reset on Friday (and maybe regret it  Grin )
You can have some peace and quiet from me, Kevin.
Thank you for all your help (so far)  Wink

Re: Still having outage problems

Hi MsDizzie,
Glad to see that things are looking better!
If you do decide to go with the SNR Reset then please let me know via DM and I'll be more than happy to get the order placed for you.
