Try as I may, many times, I cannot get my Netgear DG834GT to connect to PN.
I've treble plus checked all the settings, password etc.so, by a process of elimination, I guess the DGTeam firmware, or the FW version (DG834GT_V1.03.22_DGTeam_1014_eng_adsldrv023o), is not compatible.
The supplied Technicolor 582n is great as a modem and adequate for my use of wifi but was considering either of the Netgears (see heading) for the extra functions, features etc.so any feedback, good or bad would be appreciated as the 'reviews' online are very mixed.
The 4000 has slightly 'better' wifi specs and VPN (not that than matters too much for me atm) so why pay more for the 3700 v2, unless you prefer Black/Blue to Black/Copper?
Lastly, does it run hot or cold as I can't see any ventilation 'holes' in the pictures I've seen?
Thanks for your help.

I'm pretty sure I have seen a post from someone using the DGND3700v2 but can't find it.
If not using either of the above, any recommendations around the £100 to £120 mark with similar specifications.
In particular, is the modem Bandwidth, throughput speed, stability and uptime as least as good or better than the Technicolor 582n and/or Netgear DG834GT?
Does it run hot or cold and have any ventilation 'holes'?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Keith and Hairy Biker
With fibre I believe you are using the BT supplied modem, NOT the Netgear, but thanks anyway.

Quote So the 3700 is a dual router and fibre modem
No, but it's got an Ethernet WAN port as well as a normal ADSL RJ11 port. So you can connect it to the BT modem and configure it for pppoe over the WAN port.
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Quote from: Hairy So the 3700 is a dual router and fibre modem, I didn't know that, but yes I am using the BT modem with my 3500 in-place of the POS supplied.
Hi Hairy Biker
No, afaik, the 3700 is NOT a fibre modem but can be used as a router connected to a BT modem.
Don't know about the 3500 and presume you are referring to the Technicolor 582n as a POS, and if so, I don't agree.

Quote from: njay I have previously ran a dg834gt with dgteam firmware on plusnet. Worked really well as I altered the snr ratio down to 60% and still kept in sync. I will see which version of firmware it was as admittedly that was a year ago and I have moved onto a tplink 8960 on ADSL and now fttc.
Hi njay
I know I haven't given you much time but would you be able to let me know what FW version you used please?
Would be good to try to get the GT going so I don't have to rush into choosing/buying another modem/router.
Appreciate your help.

Will look it up tonight and post back.
BTW was just reading another thread and noticed forum user Sp1ke mentions using a DG834GT with DGTeam firmware so might be worth contacting them too
