I signed up on Tuesday for Home Phone Anytime+ but can't find any costing information in the tarrifs for making use of the 1471 call return service.  BT currently charge somthing like 7.5p to press 3 whether or not the call is connected - what do PN charge?

I also couldn't find any pricing relating to landline text messaging but found a cost of 10p/message by doing a search on the forum archive!

Should these charges perhaps be included in the tarrif guide?

Hi there,

When using the 1471 return call service you simply get charged for the call you are making, so if it's a mobile number you would be charged at  the mobile rate, and for a landline number at the landline rate (unless you're on Anytime+ and then these would be included).

Text messaging costs 10p per message, and to be honest I thought that was in the tariff guide, I'll catch up with the product team and get that added in there.

Great!  Another price advantage over BT!!!  No more having to tell my wife not to press 3!

Not particularly relevant now, but I thought BT had ditched the silly charging model for call-backs via 1471-3. Thought that they now charged on the same basis as PN, ie - per call.

No - they still charge.

From their website:(you'll need to click on the 1471 bit!)

"What will it cost?

Dialling BT 1471 without using Call Return is free. The Call Return feature of BT 1471 costs a fixed fee of 7.5p. The fee will apply when you press 3 to return your last caller's call. This charge applies whether or not the call is connected. If you don't want your number to be obtained through Caller Display or Call Return (1471), dial 141 before making your call"

So if I use 1471 and then press 3 after 6pm during the week is the call also free? As calls made at this time using home phone are counted as free if I dial them.

Can't find anywhere in this thread about subscribing to Ring back to advoid the setup charge.

Get a call back if the number you're dialling is engaged.

Also what is the cost of the setup if you do not subscribe?
