Current outage

Is there any estimates when it would be fixed? Router reports the same error as during recent bt outage: CHAP authentication failed. I recently changed my three mobile plan and just found out that tethering doesn't work on my new plan - so I don't have backup connection at the moment and I was working from home today. Should I wait or go to work?

Fri 30 March - 45 mins without broadband

Hi - just posting because I have a 3G card, so can  at least reach forums and site.
Not complaining overmuch about lack of connection (mistakes will happen and Plus support and info comms is good), but what does surprise me is that in 2012 BT/Plus/whoever don't have equipment to tell them exactly where the fault occurred.
Like, you would imagine BT could isolate where the fault happened by remote sensors etc.
Ho hum.

It may be this http://usertools.plus.net/status/archive/1333103334.htm
Quote
At approximately 11:10am a significant number of our broadband customers lost connection to the internet. We suspect this was caused by an outage on our supplier's network.
We apologise for the inconvenience and will update this thread as soon as we have any more information on this issue.
Kind regards,

Same here and im on fibre. Typical, no internet when you are home and not working lol.
I'm currently using my Motorola xoom tablet with its own 3g connection to get internet. Knew it comes in handy even at home!

Re: Current outage

It looks like 30% of Plusnets customers were dropped by BT. Also if you review the Plusnet Usertools, BT notifications, (http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/mso.php) it seems BT are dropping major numbers of users every day for the last several  days. It is obvious they are rolling out some network changes during the business day without any consideration for their customers. PLEASE someone in Plusnet we need a drains up on what  they are doing and have some control over the quality of Service we receive.
Thanks
Colin

Re: Current outage

This was an unexpected outage not a planned one. We are fully up to speed with the early morning outages and you can expect these to continue for a while yet (there's at least three I know of next week).
We will have an incident report following this unplanned outage as we always do when these things happen.
FYI, the latest from Wholesale is as follows:
[quote author="BT Wholesale"] BT Incident Reference: 9600   Issue : 2
Detected DATE: 30/03/2012   Detected TIME: 11:33
START DATE: 30/03/2012   START TIME: 11:07
Anticipated CLEAR DATE: 30/03/2012   Anticipated CLEAR TIME: 13:30
Next Update Date: 30/03/2012   Next Update Time: 13:30
Incident Headline: 21CN WBC : FARADAY : LOSS OF SERVICE

Incident Details: Some of your 21CN services may have been affected.
Progress Details: A technical conference call has been established, a BT Operate engineer has been tasked to site (Estimated time of arrival 12:10) and technical support & vendor support has been engaged.
Services Type & Count : Handover Service 1
WBMC Shared Host Link 10
WBMC Shared Service 4
What Jim has said is also right, it will be affecting any Wholesale reseller who has a presence at the Faraday node.
