It looks like Asus is rushing to get its new improved version of its Eee PC out, bringing forward its release date by a month. This may be in response to similar laptops having been announced by other companies (several of these using the new Intel Atom-powered processors), or they may have just been waiting for Microsoft to announce that it is extending support for Windows XP (since will now be a Windows XP version of the Eee PC). XP will now be supported until to 2010 for this type of laptop: more about this at Gizmodo Windows XP Life extended .
