It’s that time again folks!
This morning we activated another 155Mbps segment of central capacity.
All of the data you send and receive from your broadband connection travels across these segments of central capacity so to put it in simpler terms, we’ve just increased the amount of bandwidth that’s available to you all.
In the next few weeks we will begin a trial of Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC). The trial is being run by BT Wholesale over their 21CN network and it is our intention to offer it to the customers that can get it.
Initially the trial is being run in two areas – Muswell Hill in London and Whitchurch in Wales. We will be emailing the customers on these exchanges this week to let them know about the trial. More…
It’s been a while since we update everyone regarding the status of our 21CN trial so thought now would be a timely juncture to post the latest information. More…

If we said your broadband was unlimited and meant it, what would you say?
If you’ve been a Plusnet customer for a while now, then there’s a good chance that you’ll be familiar with our thoughts on ‘unlimited broadband’ and our opinion of ‘unlimited’ with hidden fair usage policies. We’re still very passionate about this and we’re of the firm opinion that customers should be told exactly what product they’re buying and what they’re going to get for their money.
We are currently running a trial for ADSL2+, the next generation of broadband in the UK that offers increased speeds on both upload and download.
The trial has now been running for several months with a number of customers being invited via our Community forums. To take part you need to be in an area of the country where ADSL2+ is available. You can read more in the dedicated ADSL2+ trial forum.
ADSL2+ is the next generation of broadband..
You can find out about the basics of ADSL2+ at our website.
Update June 2009

Trial Update
Last month we posted that we were ready to begin customer trials of Higher Speed Broadband using 21CN.
So far 26 of our customers have volunteered, along with 29 staff members and we now have 49 live lines (the remaining 6 are currently in progress or waiting for the exchange to be enabled). More…
We’ve spoken a lot about 21CN over the last few months and would like to give customers an update on what’s happening with our trial and a brief overview about what 21CN is all about. We’re also announcing details of how customers can register to take part in the higher speed broadband trial. More…
We all want to go faster. And one of the most anticipated changes in the UK broadband market has started. As part of BT’s 21st Century Network project a programme to upgrade the UK’s exchanges to support ADSL2+ is well under way. We want to be able to offer our customers the fastest speed possible as soon as possible. But we also want to make sure customers will get a reliable service. So I wanted to see for myself just how good ADSL2+ is.
It’s time for another update on the progress of our 21CN trial. We’ve been putting in a lot of work over the last couple of weeks and we now have our first two 21CN lines live and they have connectivity across our new interconnect link out to the internet. More…
It’s been a few weeks since we last spoke to you about how our ADSL2+ trials via 21CN have been going. With the following article being published on Think Broadband we thought now would be an appropriate time to post a quick update. More…
