Plusnet can reveal that The Jane Tomlinson Appeal is to be the company’s official Charity of the Year 2014.
Our staff are asked each year to decide the charity they would collectively like to raise funds for and it was The Appeal topped the staff vote this year.
2013 was a special year for rugby league fans in the UK. Throughout October and November, fourteen different nations from across the world met in the UK with the aim of becoming the best international side in the world.
This was the Rugby League World Cup.
Plusnet staff have spent the last year raising much needed cash for Roundabout, Sheffield’s local youth housing charity.
We’ve spent the year getting involved in a number of fundraising activities including an abseil from our 110ft building, a triathlon, The Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon and a Dragon Boat Race along with a range of internal fundraising activities.
…and we’re very proud to have now presented Roundabout with a cheque for over £15,000.
I’m going to do the predictions a little differently this year. I’m still going to do 10 predictions for 2014 but I’m also going to look a bit further ahead to where some of those predictions will go in the years ahead.
Here at Plusnet we're always trying to use clever open source things to make our lives easier. Sometimes we write our own and make other people's lives easier too!
