Greetings readers! It looks like the summer is finally here (again) as it’s been beaming it down almost all day, with a lovely breeze and temperatures into the low 20’s! Fortunately, we still have the air conditioning units of doom to keep us cool in the office.

Hello hello hello good evening good evening good evening…
It’s End of Day time again, and nearly the end of the week. One day and counting until I’m on holiday, two days and counting until the FA Cup Final! Hopefully Wembley will be basking in sunshine and we’ll see some great football.
But first let’s post Thursday’s End of Day, today we only have one contribution and it’s Mark from the faults team:
Hello everybody! Hope you are enjoying this wonderful sunny day.
Just a quick update from the faults team:
On faults today we have been extremely busy as usual. I’ve been covering logged faults, this work flow consists of dealing with faults that have already been looked at by BT. We liaise with the customer and supplier to ensure the customer is kept updated.
Alex has been dealing with those all important speed faults.
Munky is dealing with no synchronisation issues and authentication problems.
Tony has been dealing with home phone issues and with 1 left to be looked at he’s doing a great job.
Brad has been working through intermittent synchronisation faults and brainstorming some process improvement ideas to ensure we deal with faults as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Tom has been working with me on logged faults.
That’s all from us. Enjoy the sun (while it lasts!)
And that’s it, a brief one for today. But before we go, to misquote Jon Stewart, here’s your moment of Zen Plusnet featuring our very own Maria at the Manchester Tourism Awards. (If the link doesn’t work click Videos on the left then scroll down to 22/05/09 Manchester Tourism Awards 2009).
I’ve been let out the empty library for the day, which means I also get to bring you tonight’s end of day.

Hello Readers!
It feels like an age since I last did this, although without checking it’s probably been a week. I think the long (hot!) weekend has frazzled my mind.
Let us see how the the good people of Plusnet towers are coping… James?
[excitement]wwwwwwwwwooooooooooooooooeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyy[/excitement]
It’s another (eventually) sunny day in Sheffield and we’re feeling forumtastic (well, I am at least). Chris and Bob have been sending out various service status messages and looking after change controls from a Networks perspective. Matt and Mand have been doing similar from a Development side of the coin, whilst Mand has also been writing some documentation. I’ve been sitting in our forums catching up with PMs and Forum threads from the long weekend.
Did I mention it’s a 4 day week?

See you on day 2 of 4!
James
Obviously that was from the Comms Team. The spellchecker doesn’t like forumtastic at all but never mind, thanks James!
How about you Mark?
Hi, and welcome to another Prov EoD by me again

Back in work after the bank holiday (and we’ve been confused all day thinking it’s Monday!) and it’s sunny today in Sheffield. Much better than the weather recently.
We’ve been a bit short staffed today, with 2 people off ill
so the rest of the team have been rushed off our feet trying to catch up with all the bank holiday work!
Hayleigh has working in the house moves pool, as well as the migrations pool. She is still shaking from all the coffee!!!
Alice has been working in the XML pool and the housemoves pool with Hayleigh. She is craving a chinese tonight for her tea, after we have been talking about it all day
Malik has been working the provisioning orders pool and the migrations pool. He is still studying hard for his driving theory test.
I’ve been working the provisiong orders pool and the delayed order pool. I am also craving chinese for my tea. Crispy shredded beef… mmmmmSongs of choice for this week are: Bulletproof by La Roux and Bonkers by Dizzee Rascal (again)
Anyway, signing off now. Thanks for reading!
So far so good, let me try a different Mark to make sure
Greetings and salutations from Web Dev. Well gosh! Great Bank Holiday, with actual sunshine. Though we’re all back in the office now, getting on with the important job of making our website ever better. Fixing problems and adding cool new features. Let’s see what the troops have been up to.
Gary: Wireframing. Its sort of how web designers sketch out new web pages. We don’t do colouring in until everyone’s happy that the pages are easy to use.
James: I’ve been getting my code reviewed and tested. *sigh*
Jonny: I’ve spent the day in ‘meeting hell’. *gains some strength by eating a handful of granola style cereal, straight from the bag*.
Me (Mark): I’ve been dealing with a pile of website problems, until the next big exciting project gets started.
Nick: I’ve been bugfixing, dealing with problems, the usual stuff.
Andy: Today, I’ve been updating hardware inserts for TR69, a spot of problem solving and writing some stuff for our partners.
Kelly: I’ve been trying to get my head around ports and power connections for the desk move! Oh, and I cut my finger so I need other people to help me get around the buildings finger print scanners!
Jonathan has been asking us all to help him reduced the number of open problems. Of course we’ll help!
Dan was working from home today, so I wasn’t able to ask him what he’s been doing. He’s almost certainly working on his internal tools
Colin is locked in the library, which is actually a room full of empty shelves. We’ve agreed to release him from his prison when he’s filled all the shelves with his highly prized knowledge.
Thankya all
Thank you Mark!
That’s yer lot for today, thanks for reading…
I didn’t mention it once!

It’s Friday. It’s a Bank Holiday weekend. It’s the end of day. No doubting it we’ve had a busy week, but I feel like it’s been a good productive one. I hope that’s the same with you too. More…
After I completely lost track of what month it was the last time I edited the End of Day this time I intend to try and get it right and ensure the End of Day is free of typos… but I’m sure having said that there will be plenty.
Oh well, at least it’s nearly the end of another week and another work closer to going on holiday (8 days and counting) and another week closer until Lost returns (about 8 months and counting).
But before all that let’s get on with the show and first today is Paul from the Customer Options Team:
Good afternoon from Paul in the customer options team.
Well, the end of another day and a day nearer to the bank holiday (good times!) the weather looks like it’s going to be the typical bank holiday weather (bad times!). Here on the customer options and sales team it’s been a relatively normal day, quite a change from the first three days of the week when it was busy.
The main objective this week has been a little competition with a few good prizes on offer. The competition is based on customers signed up and customers retained and we find out the results tomorrow.
Well I’d better get back to work and keep retaining I’m feeling lucky about tomorrow.
Next is Jake from the CSC:
Hey, we’ve had one of our busier days in the CSC today, and our top 5 calls of the day are:
1) Fault updates. We seem to have been getting more faults raised recently, the recent thunderstorms haven’t helped and so we’ve been working with the Faults team helping with these as much as possible.
2) Provisioning updates. Calls to check on router delivery statuses and the migrations and orders themselves have been coming through today, and also lots of calls for Home Phone order updates.
3) Fault Raising. Customers with no syncronisation to the exchange and intermittency often can’t raise tickets and so this means there’s not really any alternative other than to call us.
4) Router config. Could be people buying routers in Spring sales, though there seemed to be a few Linksys setups today so I reckon there might have been a silent firmware update recently.
5) Email client config. Mainly lending a hand setting up Outloook and Outlook Express.
Hope a nice evening for you, bye for now.
Last today is Chris from the Comms Team:
Just a quick one from us today as it’s getting close to the end of the day.
I’ve been about on Twitter, in the forums and doing some daily process work.
Mand’s been looking at problems and having a task cleanup.
James has been lowering SNRs and posting in the forums.
Matt and Bob have gone home, not together I don’t think.
Here’s your commic for the day.
Have a good evening.
And that’s all for today, time to head home. Before I go a plug for a fantastic cheese shop in the Yorkshire town of Haworth. Had the good fortune to stop there this weekend, my sister and I bought plenty of cheese including some Vampire’s Doom, a cheese with garlic and parsley. Very nice.
On that note time to go, but we’ll be back once more before the bank holiday weekend tomorrow evening.
My usual Wednesday EOD Slot coming up! More…
Evening all… just a short End of Day today, because I’d completed forgotten all about it! Oops. Thankfully, Kelly remembered for me, and posted so we do have some content today. More…
