End of Day: 24th November

November 24th, 2008 at 17:42 by Tamlyn Rhodes

The end of the working day should not be confused with the end of the day. Still plenty of good hours in which to play.

Today in Web Dev, Wojtek and Duffy have been working on problem fixes. James did a JavaScript code review for me and continued work on the Help Assistant search. Marc has been working on the Business Products refresh and making last minute tweaks to the line speed checker tool while delighting his ears with the sounds of Spotify (we’ve got invites!). Nick, Sam, Gary & Andy have also been working on the business products refresh in between Monday meetings. Phil’s been supporting the final stages of testing for the line speed checker tool. I’ve been doing adminy things which leaves with not much to show for my day’s work.

James from Comms:

It’s Monday again. But it’s been sunny outside and clearly this has meant that we’ve all been really cheerful and smiling all day long (except for Bob, who is angry).

I’ve spent most of my day catching up with the weekend’s forum posts and helping out wherever I can. I’ve also been putting some finishing touches to a blog I’ve been writing.

Matt has been doing some taskwork and looking at our forums. He’s also started working on the next Plusnet Newsletter.

Bob has been looking at ‘Port, Problems and Posts.

Chris has been supplying his weekly update, looking at the West Kensington exchange migration, sending a few emails and getting some service status posts out there. Not in an “out there” kind of way, but just writing them…

Mand’s been going to a lot of meetings today. She’s also been dealing with development change controls and fielding a few WLR queries from the CSC.

For the random link today, here are some details of a survey that shows that if your teenage child or sibling is spending countless hours on Facebook or MySpace, it might actually be a good thing.

Adam from Business Support:

Another busy day for Business support, our main area of focus for today has been keeping our tickets and calls as close to SLAs as possible under the circumstances while keeping partner and Teleworker queries as a priority.

Sam and Dan have been doing a great job as usual dealing with ITW queries which will be an increased workload for them at the moment due to some of the capacity issues being faced on the Teleworker platform. John has been focussing on the CSC ticket pools. Chris and Mark have been focussing on business faults.

It has been a busier day than usual for partner queries today which myself, Chris and our partner provisioning specialists (Laura and Gordon) have been picking up.
