End of Day: 11th November

November 11th, 2008 at 17:57 by Tamlyn Rhodes

Accessibility! Moo Tree: exclusive photos! Zen-like games! Today’s End of Day only 99p from all good news agents.

Moo TreeToday in Web Dev, James finished off a pagination Smarty plugin for our internal PHP development framework. This will result in a better and more consistent interface across our tools. Sam’s been continuing work on the Business brand refresh and Phil’s been working on the line checker. I’ve been getting my teeth into the soon-to-be-published second version of the W3C’s accessibility guidelines a.k.a WCAG 2.0. It’s a much better document than the previous 1.0 version and I hope it will be widely adopted across the web. Dan & I have also been working on some further improvements to our task management tool while Jonny turned his collection of Moo cards and a plastic pot plant into a glorious Moo Tree!

Davina from the Provisioning Team:

Well today there has been myself and Heather speeding through our Home Phone Provisioning Pool as Laura has been helping out on our Business Support Team this week. We have managed to get our Home Phone pool upto date.

Our Provisioning Team over in South Africa are doing a Fab job as always keeping our other DSL pools down to a minimum.

Business Provisioning have been doing their usual work, somehow matching addresses that don’t exist to put new lines in, provisioning lines for new and existing Business/Partner customers, and chasing orders right through to the bitter end – well, maybe not ‘bitter’! Some of our Partners require a great deal of management by colourful spreadsheets, and we’ve learned that pastel colours should be used, otherwise the eyes give up. Either that or it’s sunglasses indoors, which is a no-no.

Thanks For reading and have a lovely evening.

Bob from Comms:

Today I’ve mainly been compiling a grievance.txt file to catalogue the plethora of pranks, practical jokes and mockery served to me by my Commsrades (sic – see what I did there?). My intention is to present this to HR when it gets too big for my hard drive, which I’m sure won’t be too long ;)

On a slightly more serious note, Matt’s been busy working on the first Madasafish newsletter, Chris has been compiling last month’s customer satisfaction figures and Mand’s been looking after Problem Investigation. I’ve been keeping abreast of the latest IronPort developments and reviewing Networks change controls.

Here’s today’s random link – Some how I’ve managed to last the day without succumbing to the temptation to fill my browser window with sand!

Over and out…

I love my Moo tree!

You'd be right to love your MOO tree - it's awesome! And sounds like the most important part of your work, for sure. Actually, I might get our dev team on it asap - we're lacking in one. I'll file it as a bug.

[...] in true Plusnet fashion this ended up in the Community site “End of Day“. This was then picked up by Denise Wilton from moo.com who said the following: You’d [...]
