It was nice to get a bit more daylight this morning on the train up from London but I know it won’t last long.
Wojtek, in addition to working on the upgrade process, brought in some cake baked by his better half which was very much enjoyed by the whole of the Web Team. Colin has been hard at work investigating and fixing problems, both internal and external. Dan and I have been working on our internal iGoogle set-up again and I’ve also been doing some helping out with JavaScript issues and soliciting design ideas for the future of our task management system. Phil, Mark & Grzegorz have all been working on the code, content & design, respectively, of the new line-checker which will show a realistic estimate of the speed a customer will achieve on their phone line rather than a vague ‘up to 8Mb’. Andy’s been working on email and Gary’s been designing the new business pages while Nick works on the support material.
Adheel from the Faults Team:
A busy start to the week on the faults team, here’s what everyone has been upto:
Andy and Adam were the first in today, they sent around the report that is checked every day so we can check which faults need to be picked up and chased urgently and this stands us in good stead for the rest of the day. These faults are normally ones that have or require an update from our supplier or need some urgent information from the customer.
Adam has then been dealing with home phone faults mainly (as well as showing me and James how to test and raise these faults).
James has also been dealing with new faults. These are the faults where normally there is an immediately identifiable issue, or where we find there is no fault at all and can normally be resolved with a quick call to the customer making sure they’ve checked their equipment or set-up.
The rest of us (Tony, Keith, Pete, Alex, Rich, Tom Andy and myself) have been picking up the faults which are not resolved by the stage James has been looking at them and testing them further (trying to find the gremlins on the line!)
All in all a very productive day in faults, and the amount of work done today should help us out for the rest of the week!
