My turn for the End of Day this today and we’ve finally got more than 2 updates!
First up is.. hang on.. James from the Product Team?!?!
I sense a theme. On Mand’s first day on her BA placement, she was asked to write the End of Day for Development. One my first day in my Products placement, they’ve managed to rope me into doing their one. Talk about easing me in!
I’ve spent the majority of my day looking at hardware. Looking at our current stock levels, when they are projected to run out, when and how many we need to order in to make sure that our customers are getting their hardware in a timely manner.
Dave has been looking at 21CN, Max Premium, a Hosting Trial, Metronet profiling, Broadband Plus and Max upgrades. He’s also given me a new nickname. I have now become “Triple H”.
Luke has been looking at WLR margin analysis (which probably means he’s doing it for Finance). He’s also been helping me by giving me duff hardware information.
Ian’s been in a meeting all afternoon, but he was doing some various bits and bobs before that. Plus talking to me about (surprisingly) hardware.
Rich has been looking at a Bullguard problem quite a bit today as well as going to a couple of meetings and getting his glasses fixed. We also had a chat about (you guessed it) hardware.
See you tomorrow
Aah, he’s started his secondment! Next is Chris from the Comms Team
Bob has been doing some work on an upcoming webmail trial, more info coming shortly. He’s also been clearing out some tasks and some other ad-hoc work as it appears.
Mand has been in meetings, looking at problems, a few more meetings and then back to problems.
I’ve been in meetings, looking at tasks, a couple of emails, meetings and refusing to make Bob some tea.
That’s it for the day, Matt wasn’t in as he isn’t feeling too great and James has gone upstairs to products for 3 months.
All that’s left is the link, and as I didn’t provide one in my EOD last week, you can have 2 today.
The first is pirate facebook (Yarr! Ed)
And there is also GoogleMail goggles.
Heather from the Customer Support teams
Hi all,
Although our Gordon has ventured over to Partner this week, BOT has been ticking over nicely with almost a full team. There’s been a buzz of excitement as well with the pay reviews looming and everyone working hard to make sure they’re at the top of their game!
Carl, Laura and myself have been working our way through those Home phone orders with Davina and Matt motoring through the DSL pools. We’re looking to be in an excellent position with the weekend approaching.
CS have been doing a cracking job as usual, working to keep those call times and ticket pools down. Nice job team!
Everyone is in good cheer this week because they’ve brought back Wispas in the canteen; and although its only October, conversation on the BOT team seems to already be centred around Christmas time. We do love the festive season!
Lukasz from the Development team:
Well, it’s been a very busy day today on Dev floor.
Lots of things going on and lots more to come.Today I’ve been working on our LineChecker project. I’m developing new version of the LineChecker
to provide our customers more details about their lines and exchanges and to be compatible with OFCOMs Broadband Speeds Voluntary Code of Practice.Andy has been working remotely with our Polish LCST (Live Code Support Team) to support them with problem investigation.
Kat was playing with conversion of SimpleTest to UnitTestand PHPUnderControl for her current project.
Ben integrated Mylyn plug-in for TRAC with Eclipse IDE and found it very helpful in his day to day work.
Elsewhere in the department, developers were working on different projects to improve our existing back end systems.
That’s all from me today.

As for me? Dan and I are still struggling to get that forum enhancement I mentioned yesterday onto our live problem. Damn IE and its idiosyncrasies.
