Ah back to Friday’s for me, so less confusing than writing this on a Thursday. Hopefully though I’ll post this at a more sensible time than last time I did the EOD on a Friday, but I do have a train booked home this time and expect to will take my laptop home. But it may appear before I leave the office. We’ll soon see.
Enough of my rambling though it may have to pad out the end; it looks like it will be fairly short EOD today.
We’ll start off with Gavin from the Marketing team:
It’s been a fairly quiet day over in the marketing corner, with Spencer on leave and Shailini down in London.
Chris has been tied up in meetings for most of the day and Amy’s been busy finalising the cessation charge email and working on affiliate reports. Sameer has been compiling a report on the business pages and analysing the sign up process. I’ve been building new prototypes for the homepage and product pages.
Have a good weekend everyone
Next up we have Bob in the Comms Team:
Woo! Yay! It’s Friday… I like Fridays, they make me happy! In fact today I’ve been a positively glowing orb of frivolity and glee! Gaily skipping round the office, offering candy to my co-workers and spreading words of kindness, love and merriment!
… Ok, enough before I become violently ill, I just thought I’d try and dismiss some of the recent accusations from my Comms colleagues that I’m a characteristically ‘angry’ person (it’s all lies, honest!).
Anyways, less of the joviality, let’s get on with the show…
Today we’ve been a man down, as the infamous ‘Friday Parr’ has been away on leave. This has generally meant peace and quiet and the absence of an energy drink-fuelled, hyperactive Comms agent making strange noises on the opposite side of the table (although I dread to think what he’s doing at the moment!).
Today I’ve been largely in meetings. When I’ve not been in meetings I’ve found the time to tick a few items off my ‘to-do’ list, been reviewing change controls and made the odd forum post here and there.
Matt’s also been reviewing change controls, has been looking after problem investigation and dealing with some other ad-hoc stuff.
James has been in meetings, fielding questions about the new cessation charge and keeping an eye on the forums.
Phil of ex-Marketing ilk is back in Sheffield today to have a few send off drinks so it’s off to the pub for us all now! I was adamant this morning I was going to give the liver a rest tonight too!
Before I forget, here’s today’s link. It’s a YouTube hosted ad for a new Nintendo game, and it’s really rather clever indeed.
And a one line contribution from Jimbo in Comms:
PS: Bob has been a very angry man today. (Ed: I believe Bob’s not an angry person, in the 7 or so years I’ve known him I’ve never seen him get even the slightest bit angry… ever~!)
Lastly for today we’ve got Ian from Products:
We’ve had a another productive day in products. We’ve been discussing our broadband and home phone products as well as the value added services, any feedback on what you would like to see, or not see as the case may be is always welcome.
More work on the TR-069 and 21CN/ADSL2+ trials, things are progressing here, we’ll hopefully have an update blog on 21CN next week.
After a successful offer of Max Premium offering faster upload speeds to customers earlier in the year we will shortly be rolling this out as optional add on for customers. Watch this space next week for more details.
And that’s it for today, said it would be a short. Hope everyone has a great weekend, the Singapore Grand Prix looks to be a good one and I’m sure I saw an advert saying that Heroes is back soon… Oh and it’s the big Derby game at Goodison on Saturday, easy win for the Toffees me thinks.
