Today’s the “Glorious Twelfth” but it certainly wasn’t glorious when we woke up this morning to the pouring rain. Thankfully, at leaxt in Sheffield, it’s dried up a bit now (watch me jinx it for going home!). We certainly haven’t been off shooting Grouse, but we have been doing other things!

First up today we have Chris from Comms:

Comms, well we’ve all been beavering away in comms land today. Myself and Matt have been helping out the faults team while Bob and James have been helping the prov guys and gals. We’ve also had our normal stuff to do, including change controls and some more high profile problems. I’ve also moved desks (it’s mine now Mand).

Another busy day in Networks! Don’t know where to start so here’s todays picks:

Making sure our user traffic is in balance – i.e. that there isn’t that many more of you on one pipe as opposed to another, the new VPN link to our Contact Centre in South Africa, investigating POP/IMAP email authentication changes, speccing potential new CGI platform, the usual monitoring and problems, as well as escalated customer tickets and an array of internal support such as testing the new anti virus platform etc…. Later!

In Web Development, we’ve continued doing bug fixes following the Brand Refresh, picking up new projects to do (thanks for telling me in advance, guys…) and continuing preparing for some rollouts on Thursday morning. Management all appear to have disappeared just now… I know Jonny’s gone off to watch Sheffield Wednesday take on Rotheram with Sam and Chris from Marketing, but the rest have just disapperaed.

Well, bad puns aside, I’m going how now to make use of the internet and join a virtual meeting that I’m a part of with people from across the world.
