Pete just turned to me and asked who was editing the end of day today. I looked up, seeing everyone around me leaving for the pub to have a few drinks with one of our departing web designers. Seems I’m the only one left on this desk pod still logged in. Guess it’s me then!
Adheel first from the CSC
The Top5 from the CSC this sunny (yeah right!) Monday afternoon is as follows:
- Router set-up/Config - Old and new customers alike requiring help on setting up their routers, the older customers needing help after purchasing new (and sometimes wireless routers, or after computer re-formats, and new customers needing general set-up help.
- Fault chasing - Mainly No Sync and Intermittent logged faults, no determined pattern, and most of these faults (especially No Sync) that have been already logged and just requiring a update.
- Domains - A larger number of these calls then usual, customers calling in for not only standard hosting and registration queries, but also the less common domain record queries, CNAME, A name etc.
- E-mail client set-up - customers needing help to set-up their email clients for the first time, mostly Outlook Express but a few Mac Mail queries cropping up.
- Fault Diagnosing - Again mainly No Sync and Intermittent fault types, users calling as sync status is being lost, and needing to be advised of master socket/hardware/alternative equipment checks, and a few call backs after these being checked but the issue persisting.
Bob from Comms
Back after my 2 week jaunt to Greece, I arrived in the office today fully vitalised and ready for the week ahead (Honest guv!). Unsurprisingly it’s done little but rain today in Sheffield, which is a far cry from the 35 degree heat I’d just about become accustomed too before having to head back to sunny England
Anyways, today I’ve been mainly occupied with drafting and sending a couple of service notices to customers. I’ve also been catching up in the forums and the Newsgroups. As for the rest of the guys, Matt’s been on problems, Chris has been busy with this month’s customer sat survey results and Mand’s been involving herself with the usual Dev stuff. James has been across with our Sales Team.
Back on the subject of holidays, whether you’ve been away this year or not, you can’t help but envy Internet icon Matt Harding who has recently published a follow up to his legendary “Where the Hell is Matt?” video. Take a look at this and tell me you’re not jealous!
Adios!
Well, it’s a good job that the CSC and Comms were on the ball enough to post our their EODs without needing pestering! Good job guys!
My Web Development guys have been beavering away on their usual projects including a load of user testing on our new MyAccount wire frames in Sheffield’s rather rainy town centre. They are learning lots of quite useful lessons from this so I think we’ll be doing it again! Pete, Jonny and I have spent most of today doing our usually weekly planning and KPI work to make sure the week is planned out accordingly. It’s all riveting stuff!
Good video... keep up the random links; they're a nice idea.
(Oh, and welcome back Bob.)
Thanks Be3G! Looks like some of the linkage was slightly broken nonetheless so I've since fixed it. I'm never failed to be impressed by Matt's 2 videos, they're enlightening!
