My turn in the EOD hot seat today! The highlight of my day sat up in Web Development was Jonny spotting a rather significant change needed to our MyAccount wireframes when doing some dry runs of the user testing we are planning. I can’t wait till we get these out to the unsuspecting Sheffield public to help us test!
On with everyone else’s updates!
James from Comms spreading some scurrilous rumours
Well today’s been another of those days where it’s been nice and sunny in the morning and then decides to get nasty later on. This is coming from someone who got drenched yesterday and will probably do so again today.
Matt tells me that he’s been Mand today. He’s been going to her meetings and doing all the problem work. Today’s Mand’s birthday so she’s not here! Happy birthday Mand!
Chris hasn’t been doing anything apart from telling me about his new mouse. (ed. That I refuse to believe!)
I’ve been going to a few meetings, posting on the forums and doing some project and task work whilst sitting alongside our sales team.
See you tomorrow, hopefully I’ll be dry by then!
Things must have calmed down a touch in QA as we have another update from Catherine
QA have been ticking over nicely again today, everyone beavering on with their own projects. It’s approximately twenty to eight for me now, as I came in several hours early to help with some networks work on our Ellacoya platform, so this means I’m quite tired. I’ll need to stock up on the caffeine, though, as tonight is top discussion / networking event Geek Up, which I don’t want to miss. Gavin has been working on a mixed bag of things, with some automation work, some testing on internal tools and some DB wizardry for Rugmini, who has been working on yet more new tools to help us work more efficiently. Matt’s 1 and 2 aren’t about right now, and Nigel and Paul have been working on some leftover items from the Brightview project. No-one appears to have ruined any expensive gadgets today, although in the light of Rys’ iPhone mishap, Helen told us about someone in a former job who managed to get yogurt in his laptop!
And finally, an update from Stephen in Networks
Another busy day in Networks, most of the team have been doing the normal monitoring, problems and tickets.
Ben on monitoring
Russ on monitoring
Mike fixing problems and looking at Tickets
Parbin have been looking at tickets and JTM & PAYH pages
Neil working on tickets
Matt has been working at Internet House improving our server environment
Stephen & Jamie
Internal support tasks
Working on implementing an internal Windows Update Server
Setting up a replacement AV platformDan has been off sick today and will hopefully be back in tomorrow
I have it on good authority that Chris has been falling off chairs too.
Indeed I have been falling off chairs, or at least 1 chair. *Chris now thinks of a rumour to spread about James next time he writes the EOD*
Gee, not like that ever happens.
