Codemasters’ Software Darlings awarded CBE

June 16th, 2008 at 10:38 by Peter Jackson

I bet the Darling brothers never for one minute imagined as they were cutting their teeth on Mastertronic’s early catalogue such as BMX Racers and Vegas Jackpot, that they would one day end up being awarded the CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.

Creators of some of the most iconic and popular early computer games, David and Richard Darling went on to become co-founders of Codemasters, ultimately one of the UK’s most successful games developers; publishing all-time classics such as Sensible Soccer, Colin McRae Rally and Micro Machines.

More recently the company has released next-gen title ‘Race Driver: Grid’ to widespread acclaim.
