PlusNet in the news 13th June 08

June 13th, 2008 at 16:38 by Amy Allen

So, where has PlusNet popped up this week?

First of all we appeared in Broadband Finder’s article about broadband speed issues not just being a concern for geeks. Check the story out here

The calculator we developed got a special mention: “Meanwhile, customers unsure about the service they are receiving may be interested in the broadband calculator developed by PlusNet, which allows users to monitor their own usage in order to find the best deal.”

The calculator appeared in a second follow-on feature with Broadband Finder: “Customers can help get the right deal by using tools such as the bandwidth usage calculator from PlusNet, which allows users to see how much of their monthly allowance is used for different purposes, such as downloading music or playing games.” Link

Check out the usage calculator mentioned in both stories here

We are hoping to help customers understand their usage allowance, and how it adds up in real terms such as how many emails you can send, or how much streaming do you need to use in order to make up 1GB. To have the usage calculator mentioned twice in a week by Broadband Finder demonstrates how speed and usage big issues for customers at the moment.

Coverage has also appeared in the Sheffield Star surrounding the forthcoming LAN party that we’re sponsoring. It’ll be held at Doncaster Dome and Neil Armstrong, our Products Director, had this to say: “There is a great demand for sociable and competitive gaming events, particularly in the North of the UK, and this event is fulfilling that demand.”

The event aims to bring together every kind of gaming enthusiast. We are really excited about being the official sponsors and expanding the gaming community in the North.

If you’ve seen PlusNet in the news this week and we haven’t included it here please let us know and we’ll add it. That’s it for this week, thanks for reading.
