Today’s absolutely whizzed by. Although it wasn’t quite a full day due to my morning train out of London being canceled for no good reason. It’s been a while since the trains failed me. I think I was due some problems!
It was James’ birthday today so he bought us all cake! I thought it was meant to work the other way around? Well I’m not complaining. Aside from handing out cake, James made some fixes to the Flickr and Twitter plugins. Colin has been wondering where his weekend went and documenting the change control process for the community site. Rupert has been working on the new My Account backend and some Brightview bug fixing. Matt was back from new York (with more sweeties!) and also working on Brightview and My Account. I added a link to My Broadband Usage from My Broadband Speed and finished up my roll out guide to help people like me who don’t do roll outs often enough to have all the steps memorised.

A sunny, sunny day in Sheffield with Team Marketing back to full strength. Phil has returned from his week off and is a lovely shade of lobster red after some intensive gardening over the weekend. We’ve cracked on with a number of things today including an upcoming direct mail campaign, the PlusNet newsletter and some more number crunching. We’ve also sent out some GAME vouchers and have been enjoying the mouth watering flavours of Whoppers Milkshake choccies from the U S of A.

Well I’m back after a week off and there’s no rest in the land of PlusNet as apart from the catching up I’ve been working on analysing the usage data for May as well as last week. I’m also about to start work on another blog. Maria’s been looking at business risk management, business cases for new development and invoices. Rich has been looking at the prioriotisation processes and working on the accompanying documentation. Luke and Darren have been working on the weekly KPIs and various reports for the business. That’s it for today in the product team, enjoy what’s looking like a very nice evening or next Euro 2008 games.
John from Networks says:
The guy’s in Net Ops have been mainly concentrating on problems as they have started to creep up a little, the problems we have are not major ones but still we want to ensure we have full resilience and stability so all none essential work has been paused.
The ticket team have yet again done a great job. Monday’s are always a busy day and previously it used to take us until the end of Tuesday to get over the backlog but the guys have done a great job and we are now back to working on recently raised tickets.
Net Dev have been cracking on with the number of projects they own, some of these had previously slipped due to leave etc. but the signs are showing these have been pulled back on track.
CSC Top 5:
1. Router setups - mostly customers who don’t feel confident setting things up or problems with old ISP connections. Software conflicting with setup (DUN connections/proxy settings), and users having confusion with username/password.
2. Fault updates - many customers chasing up faults, mostly because they were either not aware of the lead times or just wanting an update anyway.
3. Email setups - new customers who either aren’t confident with setting things up or aren’t aware of the guides on the portal, also customers who have had a new PC and want email setting back up
4. New faults, mostly no pattern with these, just usual influx of new issues.
5. Username/password verification - people either forgetting or getting confused between their username, email address and broadband login.
