Sorry this one is late guys. Colin was going to fix it but is still trying to beat our google search box into shape for one of our big projects. On with the updates:
Barbs from HR lets us know what they’ve been up to
For us it’s been a long week in the world of CipHR, as we’ve all been heavily involved with the CipHR (Ed: CipHR is our HR management system) upgrade and training sessions during most of Tuesday and Wednesday; but on the bright side this will result in HR developing new value add services via our CipHR database.
Gemma was still with her hens (as in party) on Monday, but also managed to get some more inserts drafted for the handbook, as did the rest of the team. Diane also amended the starters induction and continued with our Marketing recruitment.
Amanda collated nominations and developed course material for the Management Development & Leadership Programme.
Jen’s re-written the best practice in relation to the free eye test voucher system we have in place – as there are further benefits available, so go take a look! She also worked with Amanda to organise the PlusNet Partnership Group.
Finally, I collated the monthly HR KPI’s; and with Amanda had the first update meeting with one of our PSL (Ed: That’s preferred supplier list, I think!) recruitment agencies.
Next up, Seb from Dev.
It’s gonna be short this time, because…
…buusssyyy (Ed: Ha! Bet you lot knew that was coming!) and stressful day today. Lots of stuff happening before The Big Day. But finally the end of the week!
Apart from all that, I am still trying to find at least a couple of mins a day to progress with our departmental objectives.
I’m making a good progress with TDD (Test Driven Devlopment) and our Trac Trial. I’ve published my report so everybody ‘up there’ can read it and make a decision – yes or no. Hopefully yes, cause it’s worth it. Maybe I’ll find some time later on this month so I can tell you a little bit more about my adventure with Trac.Till the next time and have a good weekend!
The CSC update today comes from Steve
Today has been busy as always in the CSC with some new faces round in customer services.
Todays top 5 reasons for calls are:-
- Provisioning Updates – Just generally customers chasing house moves and new activations.
- Fault Updates – People calling us to find out what’s going on with their faults.
- Username and Passwords – Always a popular issue.
- Router Setups – Usually a very popular item, but a bit lower on the list today so far
- Mail configuration – As always, its very similar to the router setup: people setting up their mail and playing a little with the extra tools included with the manage my mail options.
We all need to will the weather to be great this weekend, especially seeing as my bbq is comning out tomorrow, rain or shine I will be out there!
I hope it stays dry too! Martyn from Marketing next:
Pretty much every time I’ve looked up from my monitor today I’ve seen a spreadsheet, which tells me that Chris and Amy have been doing some number-crunching. There’s also been some work on the newsletter, My Referrals promos and more prototyping of new webpages. We’re all looking forward to the weekend, especially Chris who’s going to be playing on his new Nintendo Wii – I’m expecting him to pull a muscle because of over-enthusiastic Wii Sports action. See you on Monday.
Finally is the Comms update.
