It’s a short End of Day today… almost the entire business attended this afternoon’s Company Rally where we had a review of the last year from various departments and a view of the forthcoming year. I also seem to have been roped in to this as Mr Wing who was due to edit has gone home to get plastered… oh no, that was to do some plastering
So, first up for today, we have Mike from the CSC.
Good afternoon Guys and Girls. Welcome to the CSC AM top 5 issues / EOD.
1) Error 554 - We have had a high number of queries regarding the error 554. This has now been resolved so we should not see any further instances of this.
2) Router Config - Customer calling for basic advice on setting up routers, the queries ranged from accessing the routers setup pages to the physical install. Nothing out of the ordinary here.
3) Fault Updates - We do have a higher than normal amount of DSL & Logged faults at the moment. This is causing extra calls for updates to the CSC. We have been allocating extra resources to reduce these queries and these should subside going forwards.
4) Mailbox e-mail configuration - Users calling for assistance setting up e-mail clients. Again, nothing out of the ordinary here.
5) Prov updates - Users who do not have a Internet connection chasing the provide dates. The majority of these users have opted to pay their first payment via DD and because of the increased time scales on this type of order, they believe there maybe a delay.
Thanks for reading.
We also have Pawel from Development:
Well, it’s my turn today to tell you something about my day in PlusNet.
I’m a member of the Polish Life Code Support Team. We work for Power Media - a Polish software development company located in Wroclaw. PlusNet and Power Media started a relationship a few weeks ago. Based on that, we are going to help PlusNet with internal systems maintanance. I feel like I’m a Power Media guy and a PlusNetter in one. Nice. For the next couple of weeks my team is going to work in Sheffield and learn as much as possible of the PlusNet systems. Then hopefully we will be able to work on PlusNet systems remotely from Poland and solve many problems for the company customers.
Today I had a “dig in databases” day. I was working on discount problems of a few customer accounts migrated from Brightview ISP. If you are one of them and you notice too big discount on your invoice, blame me… Or better share the discount with me
Cheers,
Pawel
A quick update from the Web Development department:
We’ve been continuing to work on the Brightview Phase 2 project, and on general support issues, while Rupert and Jonny both received Length of Service awards at the Rally. Rupert also received an award for the work he completed on the Referrals system as well.
I (Colin) also attended a high level overview of some of our Java systems at PlusNet, which was quite interesting.
And that’s it for tonight…
Colin
