End of Day: April 10th

April 10th, 2008 at 17:29 by James

I don’t like Thursdays. Certainly it is true that it is almost Friday, which is a good day, but Thursday is not. On Thursday, I am forced to eat salad. Now, whilst salad may be healthy for you, it’s arguable that you actually expend more energy eating eat than you would actually gain from the food itself. Still there was soup. Soup is nice. James likes soup.

I will point out that I could go out to get food, but that would just be silly :)

I suppose that at some point, I should probably tell you that despite not having a hot meal, we have actually done some work today. This is true. I wonder what everyone’s been doing?

Pray tell, Kevin of CSC

A nice sunny day in Sheffield and the staff equally bright and cheerful [Ed. It's been glorious!]

The top five:

1, New faults - All types, no patterns. A lot of calls due to this cause.

2, Email - Spam filtering, bounces, set-up. General calls.

3, Router setup - increase from yesterday, same reasons, new equipment, unsure of settings.

4, Provisioning updates - Getting new accounts activated, checking orders. BT doing work early :)

5, Logged fault updates - Again due to text messages the customers call in for updates.

So, John of Networks, what have your lot been upto?

Hey! Poor Pool Parr! What have you been doing?

Well, erm, Comms, yeah, thats the one. There’s an update somewhere around here but not sure where….

Ah yes, found it.

Today Bob has been battling the evil email demons while continuing to ensure usenet access is restored for anyone still not able to access it.
Mand has been in a multitude of meetings broken up by problem hunting and also home phone queries.
James has been, well I’m not sure but as he’s ed today I’m sure he can fill this in. [Drinking coffee and eating salad]
I’ve been handling change controls, popping in and out of forums and also helping Bradders set up a projector (plug the cable into the monitor port on a PC, apparently he couldn’t figure out how to do this ;) ). }

That is all.

And that looks like it’s all from everyone else too. I shall now make my departure with thoughts of steak. Still, tomorrow’s Friday. Friday brings Fish and Chips. Plus other stuff! (technical term)

Time to go and sort out some washing :(

See you tomorrow!

James :)
