Do you all know that we’ve changed the working hours at PlusNet? That’s why the End of Days are getting earlier – the CSC shifts have changed and the rest of all finish at 5.30 now.
Kevin from the CSC brings us today’s top 5:
A busy and yet interesting day with in csc today.
- Email – Sending & receiving, usually corrected by giving the customer the correct settings or guiding them through the set up procedure.
- Router config – Mainly new customers getting stuck setting up for the first time, also the odd randomly named router cropping up today.
- Webmail, log on issues as was reported this morning, many customers seem to be reliant on the webmail facility.
- Faults (New) – No pattern mainly basic checks for no sync in the master socket, or in some cases explaining these checks in depth.
- Faults (Updates) – Prompted by voive mail or SMS from the faults team or they have been advised of further checks and calling back in with extra details.
Spence from the Marketing gives us:
Chris & Martyn have been spending most of the day writing emails to send out to customers, whilst I’ve been finishing off some designs for a minsite. Nick’s been in meetings all day and with Phil out of the office too it’s been a fairly quiet day.
The only real excitement is coming from Chris who’s hoping Sheff Wed beat Sheff Utd tonight in the big Sheffield derby! (Ed: Come on Wednesday!)
That’s all from marketing!
Colin (that’s me…) from the Web Team:
We’ve all been a bit short staffed today, with people off ill and people on holiday.
I’ve been looking at the Webmail problem documented in the CSC top 5 – although it turned out to not be a code issue after all – and also presenting some issues from the Usergroup to the management team in the department. James has been putting the finishing touches to the Flickr and Twitter plugins, ready for review by one of the senior developers. The projects team have continued to work on the Brightview project, while the rest of the department have been continuing to provide internal support.
I also lost twice at pool to James, as our respective opponents were both off today.
That’s it for today…
Colin
Just for the sake of balance you understand.. "Come on you Blades!"
..and in balance it remains with a 2-all draw for the local derby match.
