Looking back over the last week as many of us head off for our Easter break, it looks quite astonishing really. Firstly last Friday we won the ISPA Awards, then on Tuesday we won 9 out of 11 categories in the uSwitch Awards; today we’ve lit up another 155Mbs of bandwidth to increase our Central Capacity and announced how we’re raising money for Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity.
And whilst all of that’s been going on we’ve naturally been keeping the projects and operations running and helping our customers with problems and questions. Now then.. Let’s have a quick trip round the Towers. What’s been happening today folks?
Steve in the CSC, tell us the scores on the doors if you will:Afternoon all, the CSC has been crazy today with so much interest from our amazing awards with uSwitch and the amount of Press this has earned us.
*** And remember ***
Tell your friends about PlusNet and you could get up to £45 if they join us. With no limit on the number of people you can recommend, this could be a nice little earner. Remember: It Pays to Recommend PlusNet!
As if we would forget! Ben, give us a run down from Networks then:
Riz has been keeping an eye on things as yesterday, catching potential problems before they materialise.
Al’s been working on a WLR problem, as well as drinking camomile tea and suffering from nicotine withdrawal.
Dunk and I have been working on various problems.
Aaron has been doing some domain renewals, and has managed to get us the plusnet.com domain (Woohoo! When we pointing it to our servers? – Ed).
Josh has been documenting our backup platform and monitoring database backups.
Carl and Lee have been working on some 21CN stuff.
Mike has been installing shiny kit for some Ellacoya expansion.
Other Mike (emphasis on the K) has been doing work on our staging platform.
‘Bedders’ has been planning for next month.
We’ve all enjoyed a lovely presentation from our HR department this afternoon as well with some great news for us all and a free creme egg!
Comms’ Matt you write such poetry, have you had a cup of tea?:

And what’s this? ..an update from HR? Barbara, we’re all ears:
The HR team has been heavily involved all week in producing the HR strategy presentation, which is being shown to everyone at PlusNet today. There will also be a mop up session next week, for those were unable to make it.
Diane has also been putting final touches to the performance review workshop, that’s going to be rolled out to managers through training sessions next week. Gemma meanwhile has been arranging who’s going to attend these workshops. In addition Diane has been holding a recruitment review session with Marketing and Products for new roles we need to recruit for.
Gemma and Diane have both continued with absence statistic analysis that they started last week.
That’s all we’ve got for you today – the EOD will return after the break. So with that I’d like to wish you all a very Happy Easter.

lol Matt - good job.
Very entertaining read, followed up with the pictures going back some years.
Very impressive, definitely considering the migration.
