“It’s just another manic Monday” says the words of a song by the Bangles, and it turns out that today has certainly lived up to that. Although, it wasn’t the only manic time - with the news that PlusNet had won an ISPA Award breaking late on Friday Night, we had it blogged on the night and on the portal on Saturday morning. Anyway, enough of the weekend, back to today.
Dan from Networks reports:
Today in Networks its been another day maintaining our platform and making sure we apply new upgrades and firmware. SLE Database Resilience has been worked on by Mike and Ellacoya software upgrades have been sourced by Carl. We have also been keeping on top of tickets and problems and making sure everything is locked down and secure. The Parbin/PAYH guys have been keeping things ship shape there and making sure domain transfers are running smoothly.
Back from his holiday, James from Comms gives us:
Well, I’m back after a nice little break and apparently we won a little award last week!
For me it’s really just been a case of catching up with our forums as well as sitting with our sales team, to help them out with any queries that they have regarding our broadband services.
Mand has been mainly going to meetings, looking at our internally raised problems, going to meetings, doing development change controls, going to meetings, looking at forums and going to more meetings.
Chris, not wanting to feel left out has also been meetingtastic today, along with handling change controls of the network services variety, making some service status postings, helping out in our forums and making some final changes to the customer satisfaction blog which he hopes to publish tomorrow.
Pete from the Web Dev team dances in with:
Today has just rushed by. I swear the days get shorter (hang on, shouldn’t they be getting longer?). Project work is taking up the majority of our resources but we’ve also been looking at Community Site improvements; and planning on how best to remove some really old and unloved parts of our www site.. ‘Services’ remember them?
It’s St. Patrick’s Day today of course.. and we disappointingly didn’t find the time to do a themed logo we’ve been so busy. In penance Jonny has made us learn Irish dancing.. it’s not that hard once you get the legs going. Web Dev Team Irish Jig
It’s obviously been so manic that we’ve got a short EOD today!
Colin
Today wasn't St Patrick’s Day - it was the day that would normally have been St Patrick’s Day if this wasn't Holy Week - so at least you got it right by not having a themed logo.
Our resident Irish Silver Fox will be happy to hear that he celebrated it on the correct day ![]()
I can't believe they cut the comms team Irish jig out from Friday's EOD. Here's the comms team doing a little dance:-

We were wondering if you'd notice that Chris! We exercised the power of our dept doing the EOD editing ![]()
