Hi there,

The software itself supports IPv6 just fine. The backend isn't currently set up to do rDNS for IPv6 addresses but could be modified without much work (I think a stored procedure would need a small change). Forward IPv6 works already without any modification, e.g., in my development environment:

mgrice@detonate:~$ dig @xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx testv6.testtesttest.plus.com aaaa

; <> DiG 9.3.4 <> @xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx testv6.testtesttest.plus.com aaaa
; (1 server found)
;; global options: printcmd
;; Got answer:
;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: NOERROR, id: 31448
;; flags: qr aa rd; QUERY: 1, ANSWER: 1, AUTHORITY: 0, ADDITIONAL: 0

;; QUESTION SECTION:
;testv6.testtesttest.plus.com.	IN	AAAA

;; ANSWER SECTION:
testv6.testtesttest.plus.com. 14400 IN	AAAA	4321:0:1:2:3:4:567:89ab

;; Query time: 16 msec
;; SERVER: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx#53(xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)
;; WHEN: Thu Apr 17 09:38:44 2008
;; MSG SIZE rcvd: 74

Cheers,
Mike.

Will the new Authoritative DNS service have the capability for resolving IPv6 addressing as a future add-on?
