‘Windows 7′ in 2009 rumours; Macbook Air tests

January 25th, 2008 at 09:32 by Peter Jackson

Over at Engadget there’s rumour of Microsoft’s successor to Vista being on the cards for a late 2009 release. Apparently “several industry sources” are now saying that a very early version of the so-called ‘Windows 7′ OS has been shipped to ‘key partners’, and that Microsoft is now looking at the second half of 2009 for a release.

January 24th, 2008 at 10:35 by Neil_A

I was reading a stimulating blog by Tomi Ahonen last night about the Sprint Nextel nightmare that is playing out in the telecoms market in the USA.

To cut a long story short Sprint, who are one of the largest telecoms and Internet companies in America, booted around 1,000 customers off the service for calling the customer support centre too often. As a result they have lost hundreds of thousands of customers and are now having to lay off 4,000 staff. Unsurprisingly, they have been vilified in online and offline media. More…

It’s the middle of the week, and today’s been productive, despite feeling tired after taking in Sheffield Wednesday v Derby last night (the less said about that, the better I think) although it was a good night. Back in the world of work, we’ve been busy all over. More…
