End of Day: 14th December

December 14th, 2007 at 18:46 by Kelly Dorset

Another PlusNet working week ends and Christmas draws even closer. Even more scary is the through that 2008 is just around the corner. I’m 31 next year. How the hell did that happen?

First up with the stats from the CSC is Mike Trevor

  • Calls Offered :1029
  • Calls Answered :936
  • Longest wait :9.19
  • CAR :91%

CSC Top 5

  1. Email Setups - Lots of email client configuration help needed. People are still quite unaware of the setup guides on the portal. We need to make sure we are telling people about these.
  2. Router Config - Lots of people are still calling for help setting up routers and modems. This is especially worse on the BT 1800 HG (2WIRE). Partly because they still are not coming with instructions
  3. Fault Updates - Fault updates have also been one of the main causes for contact today as customers are calling for fault updates with a large number of calls in regards to speed.
  4. Auth Faults - Customers have been having issues connecting, mainly after house moves or modifies on accounts, where the wrong realm has been selected on the order.
  5. Domains - Quite a few people have not been receiving emails to domain email addresses. Mainly domains hosted with FastHosts.

Next up is Mand with a Comms update

Well, it’s the end of another fun-filled week in Comms. We’re all looking forward to beer’o'clock as it’s been a busy day.

Matt has been helping out our QA colleagues with some bug-testing today, and has still found time to start some blog posts.

Chris has been impersonating Bob in his absence by dealing with all our networks problems and change controls, along with updating our CSC colleagues regarding current projects.

James has been sat with our new starters again, helping them out with any queries as well as doing his usual good job of manning the forums.

I have been dealing with internally raised problems, development change controls and various Home Phone ordering issues. I’ve also closed off a couple of lengthy tickets regarding single user problems and have attended a couple of CSC team meetings to keep our colleagues in the loop.

We’ve all enjoyed numerous cups of tea today, and have been endlessly amused by Bob’s incarnation as an Elf

Have a good weekend.

Boss man Lee from Networks next

Lee from networks here. The countdown to Christmas is ongoing here, but with lots to do before we’re allowed any time off!

This week our main focus was to ensure that we have optimum stability and the minimum of open problems over the festive season. To this end we’re clearing down as many open issues and support requests as possible, and making a few last day tweaks to ensure we have the networks and platforms sparklingly shiny and in tip top condition so that even our on call engineers can have a well deserved rest!

Chris reports in from Marketing

A busy day in Marketing today, Martyn has been working on some new text for MyBroadbandSpeed. We’ve had a review meeting for the new Broadband Your Way journey and I’ve made a start on the Christmas newsletter (to be sent next week)
We’ve had our weekly dose of graphs at the marketing target meeting and we will be celebrating this evening with the Marketing Christmas party! See you all next week!

Darren next

A quiet day here in Products, as Shaun has been working from home. Today I have been working on little tasks that have been meaning to do for a while. I also attended the weekly Marketing KPI meeting and help Finance with hardware financial assumptions.

Rich has been working on Ticket pools in Dave’s absence and adding more users to the VoIP trial. Rich has also continued to write up notes from a recent supplier visit.

Ian has had a busy day documenting plans for next year and Maria has been busy with meetings and conducting one to ones.

Right, that’s me done for the week.
