End of Day 1st November

November 1st, 2007 at 19:35 by Colin Ogilvie

It’s Thursday, which means it’s nearly the end of the week and it’s also the start of a new month.

So, today we have Matt from Comms:

“Today? Ah, today. Today has been a day of hours, and forums, and interesting email issues (well the continuation of the CriticalPath trial, at least. Fortunately there are no issues to report on this score, thanks to Bob and Chris’s valiant efforts). In addition to keeping a weather eye on said trial, Bob has been running between various fora and newsgroups, has been writing an email for the users of this community site, and generally commsing things to those who need to know.

Chris has been chasing mail queues on the mx-last servers as well as joining Bob’s vigilance on CriticalPath from the networks floor, and has also been about in the community forums and on thinkbroadband (formerly adslguide). James has been foruming, ticketing, and joining Bob in the general comms-like activities of the day and I have been blogging (We were recommended in The Times! - See here (Ed didn’t notice this)) and joining the rest of the team on the forums we so regularly inhabit. Mand, meanwhile, has been chasing a few problems about the building and dealing with the training of the new band of PlusNetters who started on Monday.

And finally, because it really is worth a mention, we have had not just one but TWO cups of tea - each! - made by the fair hands of Mr B. Pullen himself! Keep reading these daily reports and see just what we can get him to do next.”

Closely followed by Darren from Products:

“Today’s has been one of those annoyingly busy days where things just got seem to fall into place. Today I have been chasing up several issues with BT involving Hardware ordering, Max Upgrading issues and several WLR reporting problems. I also has my 1:1 with Maria.

Shaun has continued his work on churn analysis and Rich continued work on the VoIP platform.”

Colin from the Web Team:

“Today we’ve been working on the Referrals Refresh again, on which Rupert has made progress and the changes so far look good (even if the data gathering looks scary!), I’ve been fixing ‘Green Bar funkyness’ on the Community Site and the rest have been making progress on some of the internal projects that are progressing.”

Emma brings us the update from the AM shift in the CSC:

“1. Router setup: customers needing assistance with configuring older modems and the new routers

2. username verification: this includes passwords for routers/email

3. Email queries: Customers calling regarding account email, other provider email account and configuration of email clients

4. Fault updates: Calls regarding where the next step of the fault is going, how its progressing

5. Billing: Customers updating their credit cards and adding direct debits for future payments.”

That’s all for now,

Colin
