So, we begin another week. It’s getting colder and darker up here in deepest, darkest Sheffield, but we don’t let that get our spirits down. Not even the southerness of me, with my 3 layers, scarf and eskimo coat!
Bradders is back with the CSC update:
Today in the Customer Support Centre we have been busy with the amount of calls that a Monday morning normally brings! We have also been concentrating on dealing with as many Faults as possible in order to decrease the connection issues that some of our customers are experiencing. One other thing to note was the introduction of some new fish into the tank of our floor. Hopefully this will improve the serenity of the Support Centre!
The Top 5 issues for contacting the CSC today have been:
1 . Router Config – New and existing customers ringing to set up their new routers either ones bought through us or independently.
2. Fault Updates – Customers who have outstanding faults ringing to see if there is any progress.
3. Email Setup – Mainly for new mailboxes and the setup of these in popular email clients such as Outlook and Thunderbird.
4. New Faults – Raising new faults with no particular pattern involved.
5. Sales – Prospective customers ringing up who are interested in both Broadband and Home Phone.
Chris now, from Comms:
Today has been a busy one in the world of Comms, I know I say that every day but it’s true!
I’ve been stretched between many different tasks today, as well as spending my day up on the Networks floor. I’ve written around 5 service status posts on various changes while keeping up a presence in the forums. I’ve also blogged the LAN Party.
In between this I’ve been contact the high users of the relay servers and trying to clear off some other task work.
James has been busy doing some personal tickets and making the the forums are well manned at all times. He also attended a number of project meetings and the daily operational meeting.
Mand spent the morning clearing up her tasklist, and personal tickets, and the majority of the afternoon in project meetings.
She also carried out some CSC training, and handled problems raised within the CSC today.
James in Finance:
The start of another week in finance and we are busy, busy, busy.
Magda and Mike have been concentrating on the strat plan, which is pretty much taking up all their time at present.
Kate has been setting up supplier payments whilst Jen has been catching up with supplier invoices now that the post is catching up with itself. I have been working on a project I have been set concerning revenue assurance.
And finally, with a kitchen malfunction today (and for the rest of the week) there was no curry today! I for one really missed my curry. Until tomorrow, bye for now.
Chris from Marketing said:
Short and sweet:-
Happy Monday everybody! We in marketing have been busy as usual – various workshops have required our attendance throughout the day and we’ve also been working on an email for some upcoming product improvements.
We had a visit from our friends at Computer Shopper magazine who presented us with their brand new ‘Best Broadband Supplier’ award.
I’ve also been working on the business newsletter which is due to be sent out later this week. TTFN.
Team Darren now (Products obviously!):
End of day already……….OMG. So much to do and so little time. With two of the team not in today it’s been a little chaotic.
Me: Monday means reports, reports and more reports. I have finalised the Halloween decorations and undertaken more training.
Dave: Marketing and Product team meeting with Dean on future technologies, updates on portal help videos, fixing random accounts to help CSC and started work on my next blog.
Maria: Analysing data, looking at co-marketing opportunities and reading contractual agreements.
Tony, in development:
It’s been another busy on the development floor. We have just formally closed a couple of projects that we delivered in the last month. For most projects, this is a fairly quick process, but one of the most important. That’s because we use the closure to review what went well during the project (to make sure we do these things again) and what didn’t go so well (to make sure we have learnt from any problems and don’t repeat any mistakes).
Of course, we make a note of ideas as we’re going along, but it’s always good to have the review, making sure any ideas, information and observations are properly communicated and acted upon. This means that every project we deliver contributes to improving the way we work, making us more efficient and effective….and of course, closing a successful project is always worth celebrating
So that’s it from me and we’ll be sure to be back same time tomorrow!
